I hope it's true. That would be a plus. Ricoh is better at mass marketing than
Hoya, and the Pentax and Ricoh equipment fit together nicely as a complete line.

Ricoh did get out of the SLR business during the AF era (to some
extent, they actually continued to sell MF film SLR's until recently,
but the body was a Cosina) although they did have a longtime presence
in the high-end compact side of things with their GR compacts (which
are simply awesome). But

cellphones will increasingly replace the PS and mirrorless will cut
into the DSLRs. Ricoh and Pentax could make a pretty good mirrorless
body with Pentax optics.

It does for stuff like big landscape shooting or when I want to make
really big prints. For travel (especially on bicycle, like this

still different from an optical finder. Evidently, the hybrid in the X100 won't
easily adapt to interchangeable lenses. For me, the smaller size is worth the
use of EVF.
