That's what prompted me to ask about other PDML subscribers experience with it. The article gives me a "how to do it", but not the "why should I?" Re: Focus Stacking
I use focus stack with landscape work on occasion. Typically just 3 exposures combined - foreground, mid and background, generally with 6x7 scans. Last year I experimented a bit and compared tests with scenes shot at a more open aperture and stacked vs scenes shot with the lens stopped down. More often than not I preferred the single exposure that was stopped down, though in some cases the stacking worked out better. One of the few examples where this worked for me: http://www.markcassino.com/b2evolution/index.php/noontide-1 Give it a try - its interesting and as good a reason to go out shooting as any other. Daniel, did you get my message re your trying my second post of this? Photo.net provided a bad link initially, as I mention to you but this was posted a second time with a corrected link. Pentax Sighting - The Price is Right
Flipped on the TV a little while ago and the Price is Right came up just as Drew Carey announced a pair of digital cameras - one mirrorless and one DSLR. The camera panned to a burgundy Q-S1 and a K70 (I think). Ricoh marketing? The 'full retail price" was ~$1200 for the two. --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
Re: PESO Nuthatch on the Pune
Thanks Ken. Yes, they don't sit still for long, but they usually perch on the trunk of this white pine before going to the feeder or suet cage. They like both. Re: Focus Stacking
That's an interesting and unusual shot. When I read John's question my first reaction was 'that would be pointless', but then I thought about it and decided that people should experiment - this is a good example of why. > On 11 Sep 2017, at 15:00, Mark Cwrote: > > I use focus stack with landscape work on occasion. Re: Focus Stacking
I agree. The fine detail extending into the background gives it a "real world" feel, a departure from conventional photography. Re: PESO Nuthatch on the Pune
Very nice capture Paul, I like the simplicity. They're really hard to capture with all their nervous motions. -Original Message- >From: Paul Stenquist>Subject: PESO Nuthatch on the Pune > >https://www.photo.net/photo/18421599/Nuthatch-on-the-Pine > >Paul via phone -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
