A couple of weeks ago my daughter and I took a walk in Wissahickon Valley Park in Philadelphia. Wissahickon Creek was once lined with mills (over 50 in the 1850s), but the city acquired the land as part of its water supply, and it later became a park. Many of the stone dams and bridges remain;
