That’s what it was. A TB is $10 more a month. I went with 20 GB. Probably won’t
use it.

I've been using OWC's Mercury Elite Pro drive enclosures for many years, one
per drive. Not one has failed or had any problems at all, and they're as quiet
as your drives are.

I realized that I was asking the wrong question. An external NVME SSD over
USB-C would give me much better performance, and I really only need access to
the large drives when rummaging through my full archive, rather than my working
files.
The SSD would be quieter and faster than spinny

I bought an iMac 27 Retina 4K in 2015. I think I paid about 3K. Still working
well, still fast enough for Photoshop and anything else I’d want to do. With a
second Dell monitor it makes a nice work station
