I've repaired a number of the A50/1.7 lenses. The most common issue was the leaf spring being separated from the body because of the plastic aperture ring. Keeping track of that detente bearing was sometimes difficult. In the end, the best way that I found was to just smear some of the lens

Agreed. On shots like that, you have to take any perceived defects in context. At least that's what I always do. Capturing birds in flight requires a certain degree of skill. Getting sharp, detailed, perfectly composed shots of birds in flight more often than not requires a certain degree of
