I've repaired a number of the A50/1.7 lenses.
The most common issue was the leaf spring being
separated from the body because of the plastic
aperture ring.
Keeping track of that detente bearing
was sometimes difficult. In the end, the
best way that I found was to just smear
some of the lens

Feeler gauge is exactly what I was thinking - the flat blade type, not,
obviously, the wire type. The flat blades will give you some pretty
thin options.

Twice this past 2 weeks I have bought back stuff that I sold on APUG.
Makes me feel pretty silly.

I guess it's just that the shot didn't look the way my eye saw it at the
time. I might be able to do a little more with it in post-processing to
get it closer to what I was seeing. Maybe a couple of days' worth of
space will reveal something I'm not seeing right now.
