You can wash a genuine IBM Type M in a dishwasher. Just make sure you don't

Let it air-dry for several days before trying to use it again.

That should work fine, Dave. But it looks like the specs for your machine
would support 16GB with 4x4GB DIMMs, so I would highly recommend making the
jump all the way up to that if you can swing it. If you can't justify it

What I'm trying to do is plan the trip so I leave home, drive up to Front
Royal down Skyline Drive to one of the camping areas on the first day.

From there I want to proceed south along Skyline drive to the Blue Ridge
Parkway all the way down to the southern end, camping along the way.

I want to select distances that only have me driving for 5-6 hours. That
will leave plenty of time for stopping and dawdling along the way. But I
also want to select distances that will put me in the vicinity of another
NPS campground along the Parkway when I'm done driving for the day.

And I'm trying to figure out how many days total to allow for the drive
doing it in 5-6 hour increments. I want to use the drive time feature in
Google to do all that for me instead of having to calculate it myself.

What I've done on my trips down (and I've done several so far), is to
keep a list of the campgrounds along the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is
a list somewhere on the web (Google again) with all of them, and their
milepost markings. I even printed it out in small print and put it in
the map pocket on my motorcycle.

From there, it's simply a matter of figuring how many miles you're
doing in a day, and back-figure from there. From my recollection,
doing 8 hours or so a day of travel, I was able to get from
Harrisburg, PA to the Peaks of Otter (milepost 86) on the BRP in one
day. From there to GFM (milepost 305 off of the BRP) was about 5-6
hours or so without rushing. And from there to the end of the BRP was
about another 4-5 hours, again without rushing.

Speed limit on Skyline Drive is lower than the BRP, and they do patrol
it more. You're also more likely to get behind a slow-moving convoy of
large RVs, so plan accordingly. Also, if you can bypass the town of
Front Royal, you'll save a decent chunk of time. There's always a lot
of traffic going through the town, and it's stop-and-go with traffic
lights.

The SCA 3000 series adapter that you slide the 3702 into will give you
a focusing light (LED) for low-light autofocusing. SFAIK, the SCA 300
series adapters don't have that.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.

I've got a 45CT4, a 3000 series adapter, and a 3701 module to go into

A couple of the ice rinks I've been to have small portholes in the
glass near the ends of the ice, off on the side. Gives a clear shot at
the goal. Often there are pro photographers monopolizing those
portholes. Otherwise, your best bet is probably a long zoom up in the
stands. At smaller arenas, they may allow photographers to stand up
along the rails at the base of the seating area, but that really
depends on the individual arena.

White balance can be an issue in the arena, what with a
not-quite-white ice under mercury vapor lighting. The few times I've
done it, I've shot raw, and white-balanced off of the white in the
uniform of the team. Luckily the colors of the team I watch most often
are cherry and snow.

My experience with Epson printers is that I can get excellent results
with as low as ~180 ppi for large prints, and that resolution
improvement stops at 360 ppi. Other printers ... may be different.

Size the file such that the output sizing you want falls between 180
and 360 ppi, if you want to fix a resolution. 300 ppi is a good
target, but if it falls within this range without resampling, I'd just
hand them a full resolution file and let them do the sizing for you.

I'd recommend sticking with either 180 or 360 ppi if printing to an
Epson printer. Every time I've tried a resolution that wasn't a
multiple of 180, I've gotten jagged artifacts in the output from the
resampling. The native resolution of the Epson inkjets is the factor
here. Photoshop/Lightroom seem to do a much better job with the
resampling/resizing than the Epson print drivers do.

The photo-based professional printers seem to have native resolutions
of either 300 or 400 DPI, depending on the exact model. I'm sure
someone else can shed more light on the process for them.

When you do the sRGB conversion in Photoshop, you have several options

I'm not sure what algorithm Lightroom uses for the conversion, but it
