My cheap version of the K10D battery i bought from interbattery dot
com has died. I bought it about a year ago and never really got a lot
of shots from it, about 1/2 what the Pentax battery would give.
Any one seeing the same?? I like to have at least 1 spare for any

Dslr, so now i need to decide
Odd. I've now one 3rd party battery I bought short after I bought K10D
back in late 2006. It works still consistently getting about 30% less
shots than the original one. I also have another 3rd party battery which
I bought used from a fellow list member. It is probably the same as the
original
Dave,
I've got 2 spares, used in the K10D and then the K20D. One was
purchased locally at the computer store (a minolta 400 variant?) and
the other thru ebay. They seem not to last as long as my Pentax
battery - maybe 50-70% as long. But the price was way less, probably
1/3rd. I'll get spares
The Impact battery I bought from BH with my K10D 2 years ago is fine, though
it consistently gives me about 20% fewer shots than the Pentax battery.
All third party batteries are not created equal.

I use Acme Power NP-400 (labeled 7.4V 1500mAh For Minolta)
They ran out of charge in about 500-600 shots, while original can
produce up to 900.
But the price was about 13$ :)
P.S. Hello to all. It's my first letter to PDML :)

Now we all know K10D can use Minolta NP-400 battery. I am about to make a
purchase from BH and can purchase up to ten NP-400 the most. I will keep 2
for myself, the rest will be distributed to Vancouver fellows who want brand
name batteries cheap. Based on my calculation, each NP-400 will cost you
Also, on http://www.dcview.com.tw/article/newreadarticle.asp?id=4865
It says something to the effect:
D-LI50 lithium-ion battery power, can take approximately 500 images
(CIPA standards, the use of flash lighting images 50%), and the fuselage
