Re: Extremely OT mini GESO

2016-11-23 Thread Subash Jeyan
thanks Bruce. i use a fairly normal spec android phone running
marshmallow and one can't really change any of the important settings in
the default camera app. so i use another app called 'open camera':

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera=en

fairly decent open source app and which allows one to change ISO and
white balance (which i mostly leave at auto) and one can set exposure
compensation too, which i sometimes do. perhaps you can give it a try.

thanks Rick, yes Rick i am in chennai (madras) in india. most of the
big stations/trains *are* crowded but this one was built about
ten years back as a means of cheap transportation within the city and
despite it being pretty cheap it didn't find takers for a long time.
even now it's only (relatively) crowded during office-going hours.
hence the 'tranquility'.

Those are lovely, Subash... (you must have a good cell phone :-))

Lets remember that even though this is a lsit of people who use Pentax,
all of us have times when we want to share our work and we took thingswith

whatever gear we had with us. PESO doesn't mean "Pentaxevery so often"
, just "-Photo- every so often..."

I haven't been doing any new photography with my Pentax either, except
for shooting the stuff I'm selling on ebay... just ahven't been up to
carrying the gear and losing interest in photoing my neighborhood.

hi,

haven't really been contributing much here because it's been ages since
i did anything useful with my pentax gear. doesn't look like it's going
to change in the near future either. meanwhile, i thought i'll come out
of lurk mode to post a small gallery of photos taken with a cellphone
(?), because that's the only 'photography' i've been doing and i hope
some of you will find at least some of the photos interesting.

not too big a gallery. there are 7 photos, mostly of the stations i
pass through on my commute to work by train. these are huge structures
built big in the hope that commercial establishments will move in. it
didn't quite happen that way. they are mostly empty now but for the
commuters passing through them, mainly in the mornings/evenings. i have
tried to get a particular mood these buildings evoke in me. but mostly
having a bit of fun with the phone.
