My KP arrived. I'm impressed by the image quality and the many many
options.
I think I'll permanently mount my DA35 macro to the KP and no more crawling
in the mud for macro's with this combo.

Oh yeah. SR works in movie mode on the K-5 too. That alone makes up
for the lack of manual mode IMO. For the most part you can get away
with autoexposure and exposure locking when appropriate. The files are
huge and it only records for 5 minutes, but 80mbs is much better than
the 18 or so the K-3
My K-5 IIs is still getting regular constant use and to be honest I
prefer its IQ over the K-3 somewhat except in the best light. At night
that camera is a handheld beast though I will concede that the SR is a
little better on the K-3. Still I can get down to 1/6th or more pretty
easily depending

Good luck with your choice. I like the small size of the KP, it looks

time before it is locally availabe.
As you say, a tilting screen is so useful in many situations,
following this thread because i'm planning to do the same (from my 4
year old k5iis though). some of my friends who have it are raving about
the images it produces but the battery size/life is holding me back. the
other option i'm seriously considering is a k3.

The recent cash back action made me wonder if I should upgrade my 6 year
old K5 to the KP.
Full frame is not what I need since most of my glass isn't full frame.
Which results in the K3-II as the only other option.
What I don't like on the KP is the small new battery size and the missing
