I found that I had to install SDL to get it to work/compile even if I wasn't going to use SDL. I haven't checked if Frederic has found a solution to this problem yet, but trying to get autogen.sh and ./configure to work properly without SDL installed failed for me. Be sure to copy the SDL.m4 fro
