It's a story all right. The bracket and elbow are obviously Crapophone parts
form India. And knowing India's huge brass industry, I'd guess the whole thing
was made there. I knew Charlie Haines and went to his shop every week for the
two years I lived in Philadelphia. I wonder when he got it.
She did research it by reading my article and then consulting with me. I didn't
involve myself, she asked me and I told her. I am the type of person who likes
to help others where I can, and if I see someone about to make a big and costly
mistake I try to guide them.

I didn't, but maybe I should have said that collectors refer to those things as
Crapophones!

If the motor turns smoothly and the parts fit well, it probably sounds quite
nice. That looks like a Columbia Vivatonal reproducer.

OK, so now FeeBay has an Amet motor machine and I would like to get full sized
shots of the machine; but, the only way I can view things is with their stupid
magnifier box. Does anyone on this list know how to get full sized shots
without the zoom box cropping? This is just one more annoying
Yes, the zoom change is quite annoying. You can contact the seller to ask
for the pictures. I have done this in the past and is a way of verifying
that it isn't a fraudulent listing. I always ask for a specific picture or
two that aren't on the listing. If the seller replies with It is already
Al,
Not a very good answer but try clicking on the box or page and hit Ctrl/+.

The AH 2nd style came with an analyzing Reproducer and a 22 black brass
horn, however they have been found supplied with the defunct Talk-O-Phone

If you are using FireFox the image may be saved after double clicking in
the magnifier. Then each individual image may be saved.

Thanks everyone, I have tried three different browsers. The full screen image
still does not come through. A larger image does appear on Firefox but it is
still only one quarter size. I'd like the full screen jpg ! ! !
I will give George Glastis a call this evening and let him talk me
Save the large image with FF. It will save the full image but you will
only see the eBay scaled image. If you select view image info it will
list what the original upload size is and what it is visually scaled to.
Once downloaded you will have the full size of whatever the seller
uploaded.
Hi Mike,I just tried saving a pic from eBay that had the zoom thing. I right
clicked and did save image as and it saved the full size pic, not the zoomed
in portion. It appears that it is going to save the zoomed portion, but
actually saves the actual image. I was using the current Internet
I just looked at the Amet machine. Just click the picture when the zoom appears
and it will give you an enlarged version. Right click on that image an select
save image as and it will save to the directory of your choice.

According to the seller this is purportedly a red gem. I beg to differ. It's a
model G for one thing. And the paint and striping job are horrible! Perhaps the
seller can be pardoned as he doesn't seem to sell a lot of phonographs, it's
mainly radio tubes.
Here's the link:
Is anyone interested in a true rarity? a Model B Gem masquerading as a Model
D maroon Gem - just go to eBay 320872892193.
