The lock file is now on a tmpfs-based fs, meaning it is cleared automatically during a reboot. Also, a crash of the script will cause a cleanup handler to run, making the locking mechanism more robust. Errors are not discarded anymore, but will trigger an email to systems@. Sascha

There was a stale lock file /crons/rsyncphp.lock on php-web3 which caused the rsync script not to run dating back to Apr 14. I've removed the lock file. I'll look into making the locking mechanism more robust. Sascha
