Re: Bitmessage Mailing List for PicoLisp
Hi Tamas, why is it important to have an encrypted communication channel for this mailing list purpose? (im all for encrypted communication, btw, just curious) Right. Not important at all :) I just think it is good in general to get that medium up and running, and to use it practically. In the long range I see it as a potential replacement for Twitter. One reason where it makes sense in a mailing list is anonymity. Not essential for this PicoLisp list, I presume, but it might be for more political lists. You can post messages anonymously, but still spam can be blocked based on addresses (that's why using a chan, where all members share the private keys, is probably not a good idea for this public list). ♪♫ Alex -- UNSUBSCRIBE: mailto:picolisp@software-lab.de?subject=Unsubscribe
Bitmessage Mailing List for PicoLisp
Hi all, in case some of you like to experiment with Bitmessage, I have now created a PicoLisp mailing list! Bitmessage is a P2P communications protocol used to send encrypted messages to another person or to many subscribers. For details, see https://bitmessage.org If you installed the Bitmessage client, you can join the PicoLisp mailing list by subscribing to the address: BM-2D9k6jt6wxipHH7ABwbDB43zBWj67Bw3U7 Let's see if and how it works out :) ♪♫ Alex -- UNSUBSCRIBE: mailto:picolisp@software-lab.de?subject=Unsubscribe
Re: Bitmessage Mailing List for PicoLisp
Hi Joe, Do we also need the chan name? I tried PicoLisp I didn't create a chan (Decentralized Mailing List), as this involves possible spam issues. Just a plain mailing list as described in https://bitmessage.org/wiki/Mailing_List As I understand it, you can simply send messages to the given address. I tried joining and the Bitmessage client says Although the Bitmessage address you entered was valid, it doesn't match the chan name. I think you can simply add the address to the Subscriptions tab in the client. Then you should receive all posted messages as broadcasts. ♪♫ -- UNSUBSCRIBE: mailto:picolisp@software-lab.de?subject=Unsubscribe
