Bug#533699: nosefart: changing back from ITP to RFP

2011-02-19 Thread Lucas Nussbaum
retitle 533699 RFP: nosefart -- NES sound format player
noowner 533699
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of nosefart back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 6 months.

If you are still interested in adopting nosefart, please send a mail to
cont...@bugs.debian.org with:

retitle 533699 ITP: nosefart -- NES sound format player
 owner 533699 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing 533...@bugs.debian.org.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of vgmstream back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 6 months.

If you are still interested in adopting vgmstream, please send a mail to
cont...@bugs.debian.org with:

retitle 533697 ITP: vgmstream -- library for playing streamed audio from video

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing 533...@bugs.debian.org.

Bug#602050: ITP: supercollider -- A real time audio synthesis programming language

2011-02-19 Thread Dan S
2010/10/31 Felipe Sateler fsate...@debian.org:
 Package: wnpp
 Severity: wishlist
 Owner: pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org

 * Package name    : supercollider
  Version         : 3.4
Upstream Author : Lots of people
 * URL             : http://supercollider.sourceforge.net
 * License         : mostly GPL, some BSD, CC-BY-SA-3.0
  Programming Lang: C++
Description     : A real time audio synthesis programming language

SuperCollider is an environment and programming language for real time
audio synthesis and algorithmic composition. It provides an interpreted
object-oriented language which functions as a network client
to a state of the art, realtime sound synthesis server.

OK, status of the supercollider packaging. Here's what I wrote on 4th
jan (re a patch to add versioning to the soname):

The patch is in, upstream. What's happening right now is we're
preparing a 3.4.2 release, which will include this patch. (release
 candidate files are at
 http://sourceforge.net/projects/supercollider/files/Source/3.4.2/)

The neatest thing is to wait for 3.4.2 official release, then import
it to the deb-mm repo and tweak the scripts for .so.1. Should be soon!

Since then, there's been some delay in supercolliderland due to
debating garbage-collection issues in the development branch. We can
either wait more, or apply the patch downstream, in which case it
would I think be ready for others to try? What's the next step once
we're OK with the packaging?

libsbsms_1.7.0-1_amd64.changes is NEW

2011-02-19 Thread Debian FTP Masters
(new) libsbsms-dev_1.7.0-1_amd64.deb optional libdevel
Subband Sinusoidal Modeling Synthesis (development files)
libsbsms is a C++ library for high quality time stretching and pitch scaling of
audio. It uses octave subband sinusoidal modeling.
 .
The audio is fed into a FIFO, which takes the STFT of the input. Each frame is
high-pass filtered in the Fourier domain, and then written to a frame FIFO
which does quadratic interpolating peak detection and track continuation. The
tracks are resynthesized with a quadratic phase preserving oscillator bank at
 an arbitrary time scale.
 .
The subbands are fed from the low-pass filtered frames, which are decimated by
two and reconstructed in a half rate time domain. The subbands perform the same
process as the parent band, only the data is at half the audio frequency, and
at half the rate. There are typically 6 bands. The point of subbands is to
allow high time resolution for high frequencies and at the same time high
 frequency resolution for low frequencies.
 .
Pitch scaling is performed in a post-processing resampling step.
 .
This package contains the development files.

Re: Bug#611791: [SRM] Approval for libmms_0.6-1squeeze1

Hi,

Oh, good catch. So the story goes like this, indeed the SAME_ENDIAN
and SWAP_ENDIAN macros should be called LITTLE_ENDIAN_TO_NATIVE resp.
BIG_ENDIAN_TO_NATIVE, iow they indeed will do the wrong thing
on bigendian if used as intended, but the WORDS_BIGENDIAN
define which is checked for does not get defined by standard
C headers, so we end up using the /* Little endian */ block
on big endian machines too. So this is a case were 2 wrongs
make a right.

I'll change this (really fix it) in git soonish, likely tomorrow.

BTW, note that I strongly believe that the 0.6.1 and 0.6.2 releases
are bugfix only releases, fixing a number of small but nice to
have fixed bugs. Ok I must admit that the ipv6 changes could be called
a feature, then again not supporting ipv6 now a days can also plainly
be called a bug. So I think it would be best to just rebase the packages
to 0.6.2, rather then do a backport.

Regards,

Hans
