Thanks for bringing it up: I was aware of this but hesitated, as I
imagined it required coordination with release team and yada yada.

Have you investigated already which packages are involved? I would
appreciate if I could concentrate on the concrete packaging parts and
leave the coordination to others - do you volunteer? :-)

I was unaware that the package was released in experimental, though. I
have not yet taken a closer look, but expect to do so Real Soon. I
don't remember which one, but a newer release of liblo is also required
for another package that I am in love with and consider packaging... :-)

Ah, I actually looked at calf the night before deciding to join this
team, considering to package it (from scratch, I was unaware of above
mentioned work in progress). :-)

I am brand new in this team, so correct me if I'm wrong, but generally
in Debian the term sponsoring is inaccurate here: We do teamwork and
those in the team being DDs or DMs upload. Sponsoring is for
independent non-DD/non-DM seeking someone to upload without teamwork.

The calf packaging looks clean. And it uses CDBS so I'd be happy to dig
in and release if I find nothing disturbing at a closer look. I will
apply some not-yet-official CDBS plugins and enable semi-automated
update of debian/control - please do ask if any of my changes aren't
obvious, and complain if you disagree with any of them.

Kind regards,

Yep, you're right. It's all about uploading. ;)

Ok, I have looked at it now, couldn't find any more places to tweak
(or to obfuscate, depending on viewpoint :-) ), and have built a package
ready for upload.

I'll simply upload as soon as I have done some minimal testing that it
works on my machine. So *now* is the time if you want to hold back the
release for whatever reason.

While waiting for acceptance in NEW queue we can then discuss what I
did, and if perhaps some of it should be rolled back for future
releases.

Bring on some more - I am in the mood! :-D

Dear Jonas,

welcome to the team, I 've just added you as a Senior Developer.

Regarding the use of CDBS, we do not have a *must* policy on packaging

feels best for you.

I wanna join your team

2010-02-06 Thread Jonas Smedegaard

Hi,

I want to join this team - if you will have me :-)

I have been a Debian developer for nearly 10 years, working on a wide
variety of packages (I currently help maintain 100+ packages), some of
them (atomicparsley, csound, unicap) multimedia-related[1].

Earlier today I contacted Robert Jordens and he suggested I take over
his packages as he has lost interest in them. I am currently preparing
new uploads of liblo and timemachine, but would love to do it in close
coordination with you folks, so here I am! :-)

[1] Those packages are currently maintained at the collab-maint area. If
my co-maintainers agree, it might make sense to move them to this team.
