How is SC setup on your PC to run - as a service, on login etc. ?
How do you restart SC - describe in detail as it sounds like there is
some problem in this step.

Unfortunately I have neither a linux or Mac box, so while this might be

I have installed Squeezeslave 0.8-25 on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server. The
server also run SC 7.3.2.
I start Squeezeslave from the commandline.
/usr/bin/squeezeslave --retry -m00:00:00:00:00:4e 127.0.0.1
There are no errors but the player don't show up in SC and I get this
in the server.log

Someone else was having the same problem here - I get the behavior they
describe:
SC starts up with the computer. I have two users on Vista, both with
admin access.
When I restart SC, I close any open SC windows in Firefox and then I
right-click - Quit SC on the system tray. I repeat for both users, if

There is no Quit SC option - there is Exit or Stop SuqeezeCenter.
If you select Exit then you are only stopping the systray app and NOT
the SC app.
When you start SC from the start menu - you are starting the systrap
app. So I think you have not stopped SC at all.
