It's taken me a long, long time but I've finally got the iPeng modes.
Once understood they work very well indded but pure nirvahna is negated
by one seemingly insurmountable problem: It is far too easy to
destroy/replace a carefully built up playlist by touching the album art
by mistake when
I can't figure out how to use the playlist manager though. I want a way
to add arbitrary tracks to arbitrary playlists. When I press-and-hold on
a track I get the context menu, and at the bottom is the 'Playlist
Manager' item, but when I select it I get to a screen that has 'Playlist
Manager' at
I have just received a message stating that my plugins have been updated
and that I need to restart SBS. I then went to the plugins/Extension
Downloader page and closed the pop-up, electing to restart later. I've
looked really, really hard to find any plugins highlighted in bold text
(or even any
Re-install fixed problem. All settings were set properly so me thinks
config file corruption.

If you have the plugin installed you get it from the context menu on
Tracks or Albums.
You get the context menu by holding an item for 1s.
Also works on the NowPlaying Cover Art and the current playlist.

Is this on Squeezebox Server 7.4.* ?
If it is, the SQL looks like the old one used for 7.3.* and earlier. I
this case try to re-create the SQL Playlist playlist and see if it works
better.
Yes, that was the problem. I refreshed the playlists and all is good.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I am still unable to get this working. I gave up for a
while, did a complete uninstall of MiP and Squeezecenter and a fresh
install of both (now running 7.4 r28672).
Squeezebox Server is pointed to a single folder C\Squeezecenter
Library that contains 30+ shortcuts to music
Yes you are right - these streams don't work at present. (They use a
slightly different text string in one of the BBC files - I will update
the plugin and post back)

Make sure you're running the latest 7.4.1 build as there was a potential
crasher in 7.4 with MIP.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm trying the IPlayer plugin now - didn't even know it existed. Too
soon to say if it has fixed my problem with drop outs.

I have patched 5.8.8 to parse the NFL and NCAA football games. I
followed the scheme implemented for MLB this year. However, I'm not a

I'm in the same boat -- A lifetime subscriber who was using Greg's

Please keep me in the loop of any info regarding grandfathering to high

Thanks in advance.

Thinking about this a little more...I'm not really keeping track of
which client is initiating an action. The requests can come from so
many different locations: a player menu, a controller, the webUI, the
cli... So I can't really depend on there being a 'client' to execute a
given request.
