For Ubuntu - they include the libav which is a fork of ffmpeg. Perhaps

It looks as if the HLS feeds are only approx. 130kbps AAC. So the higher
rate feed [for R3, for example] hasn't been turned on yet. Have they
said anywhere they'll support higher bitrates again?

mherger has nothing to do with BBCiPlayer. Triode is responsible for
the wonderful BBCiPlayer plugin and applet.

I have been listening the to the BBC HLS streams for a few days direct
on my PC using VLC and they are a little bit intermittent if I'm honest.
It seems that the individual chunks sometimes get mixed up so I hear
gaps, and sometimes a few seconds of radio from the past out of order.

Hi. My LMS is currently hosted on iOS (I know: serves me right!) any
hope of the plugin in the near future or should I move LMS back to a

So - I've installed the plugin and the favourites are in place. When I
try to play any of the new streams, the stream looks as if it should be
playing on LMS for a couple of seconds but then stops. No sound is
played.
Presumably, this is because ffmpeg isn't installed on my Mac - but I
can't
If anyone out there uses some form of network player with internet
radio, but has no LMS device to connect to it to play the radio
stations, or you use Sonos, there may be a solution using UPnP. I use
this on two devices, and several others have been tried and work. With
