At this stage it looks like it was the "Streaming Method" setting.
Previously I'd set it to "Proxied Streaming" due to my slow Internet
connection.
If I set the players to "Direct Streaming" Deezer keeps playing fine
(for hours).
If I switch back to "Proxied Streaming" the songs get cut-off

It's not for everyone to be sure, but its nice to have alternatives to
the big guys, and kind of analogous to the squeezebox ecosystem for me
at least in terms of upfront pain and occasional troubleshooting not to
be tethered to whims of others. In as much as I can't really recommend
new people
Not sure if they've changed something at their end - but I've been using
the free account and the Deezer plugin to listen to continuous music for
well over a year now, without any issues like this.

done within LMS - do you meant the plugin has left the duration

It was due to the way I added :desktop="true" to lms-ui-settings. I
didn't put it

behavior with Material to see if there are any anomalies compared to
Default UI. AFACIT I have only found one

I recently started using the Allo Katana (+ Isolator) with Picore.
Alsa EQ works perfectly well within the setup. ie the repetitive sound I
and others described previously is not there. I've used it extensively
on my own ripped CDs and TIDAL streams.

That's obviously how it should be working. Next time you get in to this
situation please check the cache folder (see
Einstellungen/Information/Zwischenspeicher-Ordner). In there you should
find a folder "spotty" with various sub-folders.

Been playing Deezer channels (free account) and noticed over the past
couple of weeks the end of the songs get cut-off (maybe last 20%) before
it plays the next song.
Looking for some pointers to help diagnose where the issue maybe (eg.
network, server).
