After a bit of thought overnight I realised that my problem was caused
by a clash of ports between Chromecast Bridge and Jriver Media server,
I'd forgotten that I'd recently enabled Jriver's media server on the
same PC.
Hi Guys, I've just changed my router and had to factory reset my
chromecast audio device. After setting it up again it works ok from apps
on my phone but will not play from chromecast Bridge. The device is
found by media server but on pressing play the progress bar moves but
there is no sound,

Ideally, what I would expect to happen is, the bridging plug-in does a
network scan upon restart to detect any Chromecast on the network and
its new/changed IP.
The MAC obviously stays the same.

Connect your own WiFi router to the ISP router and tell it to offer DHCP
on a different subnet to the ISP one.
Then give it a WiFi SSID if your choice and connect your devices to it.
You could give it the same SSID & passphrase as the ISP one and turn off

For some reason CastBridge lists my single Google Home device three
