I can not recommend installing LMS *7.9.0 or later* to MBL (D).
Why?
I have been running a Squeezebox radio in our kitchen for years. At some
point, I installed LMS *7.7. ** on the NAS (MBLD 4 TB) by using the
recommendations given in this thread and it ran without complaints.

The first database was corrupted- The process has stopped on its own
after 5 minutes, and I have been obliged to purge it, and to relaunch
the DB process.
But in the end - everything was fine.
Yesterday afternoon I was able to listen music on the squeezebox with
the LMS... and was able to pilot
Are you using the Web interface on your S2? I'd thoroughly recommend
using one of the apps for this, Orange Squeeze or Squeeze Commander
being my favourites but even the free Logitech app is better than the
Web interface on a phone or tablet IMO.

It was just a test to see how thing are working. I do not expect to use
in the near future my galaxy in order pilot the logitechmediaserver.

I was going to suggest you use the purge command to rid yourself of LMS.
Glad to see you are up and running.
The No space left on device message may mean that the root partition
on your drive is full.
Log in to the terminal and type the command df -h /. You should get

Following purge of old install, I installed 7.7.2-r9663, stopped the
server, set temp size using:
mount -o remount,size=500M /tmp
...per an earlier post, moved the cache dir, updated server prefs, and
restarted the server. 44-minutes later I got the first full scan I've
seen of 16,202
That's good advice -- install LMS first and move the cache if you
encounter scanning issues. Let us know what happens!

To make things simple. Just install LMS. You do not have to change the
port#. The LMS will use 9002 if 9000 is being used by Twonky. You can
move the cache folder later anytime. So follow PaulBC #3 instruction:

Without knowing every change you have made on your NAS, it is hard for
anyone to know what the problem might be.
All I can suggest is to re-install the latest firmware for your My Book
Live so you can start at square one, and then follow the steps I

Im going to buy some home video streaming hardware, and something to
hopefully double up as a NAS and was looking at a Western Digital TV

Why is this irrelevant? There are huge changes between 7.6 and 7.7, which can

You're right ... my bad. Although cachedir appears more than twice in
serve.prefs, only two of the lines in which it appears needs to be
changed. The other line points to the dbsource: and that line needs to
be changed.

Just install putty on your windows box - you use this to ssh to the wd

Well I tried uninstalling 7.7.0 last night (following the instructions
on page 5 here) and installing 7.6.3 but it wouldn't let me as it said
7.7.0 was still installed. I've upgraded to 7.7.1 to see if it works
but the same error is appearing.
It seems to me that the Squeezebox
I had seen problems like this with 7.6 when using the Custom Scan plugin
(cf. 'thread' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=678632).
After I did a full reinstall without the problem things work fine. I
haven't re-tried to install the plugin on 7.7 as things are currently
working.
