Softsqueeze will does play most source but 24bit material is all
distorted and noise.

LMS depends on specific versions of perl. Unless Logitech updates LMS
for Windows and OS X, the perl version it relies upon may not be there.
Or, even if inbuilt, it may have severe security holes.

Wish it were true. But for the past 2 or 3 versions of OpenSUSE and
Redhat, yo have to compile LMS from source, edit many files, and change
links. Look at the Linus Forum for details.

Softsqueeze uses the standard JavaSound package so support of 24 bit is
OS Java port dependent.

I have the same error as dahmwern in Windows 8.
I reinstalled Windows 7 on the same Laptop and Squeezelite works with no
problem.
