First, brilliant work on this; from the get-go its performed almost perfectly for my in my environment. I've found two small challenges I'd love to help solve. They are: (1) When streaming music via Pandora or Spotify plugins, the music and metadata make it to the appleTV perfectly, but the cover-art does not. >From the squeeze2raop log, I can see the URL is being sent, but its VERY long, and am guessing its getting truncated somewhere? Cover-art for local media works fine. (2) I cannot get squeeze2raop to start on a LibreELEC box, regardless of platform, x86-64 or rPi. I always receive a network "bind: already in use" error. Frankly, it's a lot less hassle to keep up to date. And I just picked up the existence of the 'piCorePlayer help website' (http://picoreplayer.sourceforge.net/main_getting_started.shtml) the other day, which pretty much explains all you have to do. I think it's clearer to say 1.4.10 doesn't work reliably on non ancient versions of Windows. It worked absolutely perfectly for me on WHS v1 (which is Server 2003 / Win XP based). Yes you can use your Touch players. Samba is the Linux name for network shares. By default VB cones with them switched on. Do you use a Windows PC? Can you see the network shares that contain your music? When you install LMS on a Pi it asks you where your music is stored. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IPeng, Spotty and remote streaming
iPeng just adjusts the player settings for bitrate limiting and it does that depending on whether its using cellular or WiFi, which is what you set in iPengs bitrate limiting menu. The rest of course has to be done by the server. Michael has to answer this but I seem to remember that hes throwing the PCM output of librespot at the transcoding framework so maybe that means the server cant transcode again to make MP3 out of this. However ... usually this would still be supposed to work, other cases where transcoding fails youd just get the untranscoded data. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107666 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

When you skip back - the plugin request a chunk with a specific timecode and then plays sequentlially from there. Wirh AAC the time buffer is currently about 3 Hours. With Flac it is 10 minutes. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106409 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IPeng, Spotty and remote streaming
Thanks Pippin I should have been clearer. When I say it doesn't work I mean that you get stuttering so whatever transcoding is supposed to be happening is being attempted by the Pi. It's at it's worst with bitrate limiting ON but does appear to a lesser extent even over a Wifi VPN. I am now wondering whether even a dedicated LMS only Pi just hasn't got the guts. I had no such issues with my VB 2.3 and SPH so it's either Spotty or the Pi I fear. *Pi3 with piCoreplayer music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets/Jogglers *Living Room* - Joggler & SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s *Office* - Pi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / Pi & SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107666 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

As per my note about known issues described here http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?106409-BBCiPlayer-V1-5-2-beta-test=888243=1#post888243 - "Long chunk time" is a warning that was "tuned" for the 320kbs stream as a way to help if a user had rebuffering. The limits are too small for the Flac stream (typically 500-700kbps but as high as 1Mbps) and so the warning is flagged more often. This is the issue I ran into--noted in my initial post in this thread. When I followed the link that appeared in LMS with the error message, I found an option to choose between two versions of VC++ runtime to download. I chose the x64 version since my PC is W10 64-bit. Kept getting the same error message. I finally downloaded the x86 version of VC++ runtime and voila'. If you installed the x64 version, try the x86 version of runtime. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0
I'm so thankful to have this workaround as a possibility!! Like you Michael, my children are now in the drivers seat in terms of what needs to work or not in the home (and hence the loss of Spotify severely limited by SB usage). Unfortunately, I'm using an Asustor 6104T (i686-linux) and so I have this IO::Socket::SSL module issue. I've posted over in the Asustor forums (https://forum.asustor.com/viewtopic.php?f=156=6710=28780#p28780) but if anyone here is an Asustor user, or can advise me if Entware-ng can be used to install the require module, it would be greatly appreciated!! Do you think it would be possible to port/build the spotty plugin targetting an ARM platform without hardfloat support, like my Synology DS212j that has a Marvell 6281 CPU? I spent a good amount of time, as I have a NAS with that architecture, too. Alas, I failed. FWICT I think it's a problem in some OGG/Vorbis library which wouldn't cross compile correctly. are you running VB 2.3 or 2.4? My tests (both failed) are on VB 2.3 machines, which should have good enough hardware according to michael. I installed vb 2.3 in a VM. It looks as if VB 2.3 was/is a i386 environment. But Spotty was built for i686 (or x86_64). Use the QNAP for what it is good at - serving files - and get a Pi3 + piCoreplayer and install LMS and point it at the music share on your NAS. There are all sorts of issues trying to upgrade LMS on QNAP - its not impossible but it really isn't worth it when a Pi costs £30 and will do a better job and is much easier to keep up to date. *Vortexbox LMS 7.9 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets *Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 -> Sony TA FE 320 -> Sennheiser RS 130 & B P7 *Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107615 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

They mean an iso image that you download from the web and put either onto a CD or a USB stick but I have a VB 2.3 and I couldn't install Spotty so I have switched to a Pi3 with piCoreplayer which I have been meaning to do for a long time but liked the convenience of the CD Ripper on my VB. Spotty wouldn't run on my VB and threw a segmentation fault if run at the command line. Michael suggested it was probably the CPU. Anyway my point is that upgrading to 2.4 may not actually solve the issue if like me you have an unsupported CPU. In your case you could get yourself a Pi3 and install pCp / LMS but point it at the Samba shares on your Vortexbox. You can then switch off LMS on the VB (or keep it running). The CD Ripper will still work and put your FLACS in the right place that your Pi based Spotty capable LMS will be able to read. It isn't difficult. *Pi3 with piCoreplayer music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets/Jogglers *Living Room* - Joggler & SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s *Office* - Pi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / Pi & SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107615 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] IPeng, Spotty and remote streaming
Starting a thread because I don't know if this is an iPeng thing or a Spotty thing. I do a lot of remote streaming via SSL VPN (although type of VPN is irrelevant) using iPeng and headphones. Spotty tracks work over Wifi with VPN Doesn't work over 4G with VPN with bitrate limiting ON but does work over 4G if it's turned OFF. This is with LMS on Pi3. My guess is that Spotty takes the 320kbps OGG file and transcodes it to higher rate PCM which iPeng then asks it to limit to whatever the bitrate limit is set to and the Pi just can't cope but it works OK with local FLACs which get transcoded to the bitrate limit. I assume iPeng correctly identifies that it would like content at the bitrate limit that's set. Michael and or Pippin Thoughts? *Pi3 with piCoreplayer music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets/Jogglers *Living Room* - Joggler & SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s *Office* - Pi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / Pi & SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107666 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0
Hi I've had Spotty running all day using "Artist Radio" option, however every now and again playback stops when there are still more songs in the play list. It's happened 3 times in about 7 hours. If I press '>>' the next track starts, same behaviour if I press pause followed by play (LMS web interface). It always seems to happen at the very end of a track whilst there is zero time remaining. I've looked in the log (set to info) but can't see anything different to when it's playing normally, see last few lines attached below as an example of the log when it had been stopped for about 5 minutes. The 'Starting audio cache cleanup done!' line is always the last line in the log when playback has stalled, however the cache clean up seems to get done every 20 tracks usually without issue. This isn't a big issue to me, but just thought I'd mention it! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mixcloud plugin?
>From the logs it appears that indeed something goes wrong. The plugin needs to fetch the trackID, and this is not happening. It parses the Mixcloud HTML over HTTPS. Do you have the Perl HTTPS libraries installed? The other thing that I can think of is that the Mixcloud HTML is different for different countries. If you really want to debug is, edit one file in the plugin a bit. It depends on your OS where the Mixcloud plugin is stored. It's the file ProtocolHandler.pm that you need to edit. On line 120 remove the # so that is reads: $log->debug($response->decoded_content); Restart LMS and switch the logging for Mixcloud to debug. This will produce a lot of output, because it will print the complete HTML in the log. Somewhere in the HTML, it should read "m-preview="https://audiocdn9.mixcloud.com/previews/2/f/d/4/93eb-ac0a-4207-a660-685b019a3650.mp3; (or something similar).
