restored server.prefs from Time Machine which didn't help. Deleted preference files, cache, database from the system preference panel and now it's up and running. If only I can remember all my settings, favorites etc...

Did you mail me and fix it through an OS update. It’s good to know that obviously non-jailbroken iOS 9.0-devices are affected, too (might help finding the issue) but there’s really no other reason to stick with the 9.0.x iOS versions if you don’t jailbreak, these releases had some serious issues

While I could move the file structure in to the new LMS instance, I think that because it is running in a docker prevents the changes from becoming permanent. However it seems that anything I install via the plugin manager would persist. I removed the cygwin library from my installed instance.
