Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Problem with squeezeslave

2008-02-28 Thread sandos

I should add that I am:

1) streaming over a ssh tunnel
2) It only skips when I click next in the webinterface. When changing
song by itself it is fine. It also never skips in the middle a of a
song, but only when trying to advance to the next one - then it plays a
small small piece of that, then skips to the next song.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SqueezeScrobbler 1.0 for SqueezeCenter 7.0

2008-02-28 Thread pippin

James;273537 Wrote:
 Thanks very much Pippin!
 Probably best to leave this in iPeng - I doubt that I will be able to
 maintain it as I don't have a iPod touch (yet, anyway).

 Or I can give you access to the SqueezeScrobbler source code, although
 that's probably more work than you want ;-)

 James
Err, well, I decided to keep my hands off Perl code if possible...

But no problem, I'll maintain the skin file then. If you could give me
a notification when something in the functionality of the plugin
changes, that would be nice. Coolio at penguinlovesmusic.com is a good
address for that...

Another issue: I have three installations of SC with what I feel
identical installations of SqueezeScrobbler. On all three of them I can
play similar artist stations and the commands work fine as well.
However, only on one of them I have access to my account data so that I
can Browse Neighbours or Browse Friends on the other two (with
identical settings) it hangs there (doesn't load the page) and I see
this in the log:

Code:

  [08-02-28 11:47:33.0030] Slim::Networking::Select::select (245) Error: Select
task failed: Can't locate object method getFeedSync via package
Slim::Formats::XML at Plugins/SqueezeScrobbler/LastFM.pm line 1306.

On one of them (my main machine running under Ubuntu server) I also
got soem scrobbling errors, but not all of the time:

Code:

  [08-02-28 08:49:14.8146]
Plugins::SqueezeScrobbler::Scrobbler::Track::showCurrentVariables (468) Current
state of Track object: READY
  [08-02-28 08:49:14.8159]
Plugins::SqueezeScrobbler::Scrobbler::getSessionForClient (692) scrobbling
disabled for this client
  [08-02-28 08:49:14.8168] Plugins::SqueezeScrobbler::Scrobbler::submitter
(1464) Client has no available Session - cancelling track

Also: Even though most of my scrobbling events seem to be successful as
of my server log, none of them (even on the working installation) show
up in my log on the LastFM page.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Oh, and: this is not a skin issue: I see the exact same behavior for
the default skin as well.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SqueezeCenter 7.0 beta versions of my plugins

 Thanks, a max-width on the div seems to take care of the problem. The
 only issue is that now I have the pixel size hardcoded in my plugin
 which I suspect might cause problem when flipping the iPod 90 degrees
 since the with then probably should be larger.

No. I nailed down the size so it will just scale when flipping the
iPod.

 I'm not sure this is needed when I have the max-width on the content
 area div.

No, just two alternative ways to do it...

 tapblockFull doesn't seem to work when the link is enclosed into a div,
 in this case tapblock works better.
It does not work, if the div is formatted. Width doesn't hurt, height,
margin, padding do. tapblockFull tries to expand the link to the size
of the row but that does not work if it can't scale that. I just
noticed I'm having a similar issue on the LastFM file for the
favorites: since the icons determine the row height the link does not
fill the whole row (cosmetic detail in this case)

This issue is what I invented the textlink for. If you use that, it
will wrap the link around whatever content is in the containeritem and
thus you can do whatever you like there (OK, absoplutely positioned
floaters will still drop out...). So if you are prepared to give up on
commonality that would be an alternative.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SqueezeScrobbler 1.0 forSqueezeCenter 7.0

2008-02-28 Thread Craig, James (IT)
 Another issue: I have three installations of SC

 Can't locate object method getFeedSync via package
Slim::Formats::XML at Plugins/SqueezeScrobbler/LastFM.pm line 1306.

The first error seems to be caused because these are not identical SC
installations.
Can you check that Slim::Formats::XML is the same and up-to-date on all
three?

  [08-02-28 08:49:14.8159]
Plugins::SqueezeScrobbler::Scrobbler::getSessionForClient (692)
scrobbling disabled for this client

This is not in itself an error.
If you go to the SqueezeScrobbler settings page for this player, does it
show up as disabled?

 Even though most of my scrobbling events seem to be successful as of
my server log, none of them (even on the working installation) show up
in my log on the LastFM page.

Do you scrobble from any other applications e.g. iTunes? Does that work?
What are you scrobbling from SqueezeCentre? I believe any internet radio
will not show up on the LastFM page.

James

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Multi Library dummy's guide?

2008-02-28 Thread hunta

I really like the sound of the Multi Library functionality. However,
having installed it I can't see how to get going. I've trawled the
usual places looking for a user guide, but it seems everyone is up and
running pretty much straight off!

I only get as far as error messages - needing to define directories. I
thought I'd entered them under the server settings, but maybe it means
something else...

The directories you enter in Server Settings should be empty directories
which SlimServer has write permission to. You might need to restart
SlimServer after you have changed the directory parameters.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] SlimNAS 0.9 Beta forSqueezeCenter 7.0

2008-02-28 Thread TechHome

Michael,
I can always get it started by
un-checking enable  - save
checking enable - save
but eventually I get a call that the music doesn't work and I have to
visit my friend's home and repeat the above.

Frustrating, since the goal is a reliable, appliance-like solution.

Can you give me some tips on troubleshooting?

The checkbox is enabled at startup? What version of FreeNAS are you

in the var folder inside your share). What about /conf/config.xml?
