Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] How do you add a new Dynamic Playlist?
I think the problem is that you haven't enabled the playlist group where the "Songs Rated 5" playlist is shown. So you need to also either enable the playlist groups, "Songs" and "Songs/Specific rating" or just the playlist group "Specific rating". There is currently no way to show it directly in the flat list together with the other playlists. However, what you can do if you like them in the flat list is this: 1. Goto Dynamic Playlist settings and then select "Favorite playlists" and check all the playlists you have plus the "Songs Rated 5" playlist. 2. Install Custom Browse and create a new browse menu based on the "Dynamic Playlists" menu template and specify "Favourites" in the "playlist group" parameter. 3. In Custom Browse setting, select "Enabled menus" section and select to show the new menu in browse and home menu. Step 1, will put all the selected favorite playlists under "Dynamic Playlist/Favorites". Step 2, will create a separate menu inside "Custom Browse" that points directly at "Dynamic Playlist/Favorites" Step 3, will move the new menu out of the "Custom Browse" menu so you can access it directly. Of course, you can stop at step 1 if it isn't important to have the "Dynamic Playlist/Favorites" menu directly accessible on the Home/Browse menu. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74292 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hey Peter, I set mine to poll every 15 minutes. It has worked correctly since I changed the DNS settings from Google back to Time Warner. I have no idea if cause/effect is the DNS change but I monitor it to see. I do know this our family is so used to SDT that we can't go out side without checking the Squeezebox first. :) It is amazing how much this one plugin became a part of how we live. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SuperDateTime stopped working ?
Bruce, how often are you updating data? I had been updating every 5 minutes (for years!) when I saw the intermittent failures. This morning I added my latest safeguard and increased the interval to 7 minutes. In over 110 fetches, I've only seen 1 obvious error, and it was the second fetch after I decreased the frequency. Probably just coincidence -- weather.com fixing a bug on their end. But I do wonder if maybe I was seeing some sly anti-abuse measures: give random bad data to folks who poll too often. :-) -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ Free plugins: 'AllQuiet' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AllQuiet.html) 'Auto Dim/AutoDisplay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AutoDisplay.html) 'BlankSaver' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/BlankSaver.html) 'ContextMenu' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/ContextMenu.html) 'DenonSerial' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/DenonSerial.html) 'FuzzyTime' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/FuzzyTime.html) 'KidsPlay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KidsPlay.html) 'KitchenTimer' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KitchenTimer.html) 'PlayLog' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PlayLog.html) 'PowerCenter/BottleRocket' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PowerCenter.html) 'SaverSwitcher' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SaverSwitcher.html) 'SettingsManager' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SettingsManager.html) 'SleepFade' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SleepFade.html) 'StatusFirst' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/StatusFirst.html) 'SyncOptions' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SyncOptions.html) 'VolumeLock' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/VolumeLock.html) peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73222 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spicefly SugarC ube Version 2.03 Â (Automatic MusicIP DJ) for 7. x
>maybe i got something wrong, but i have no problems with repeated >tracks. > >Assuming you select one track and now Sugargucbe selects the next >tracks you can avoid this problem by the use of filters in musicip. > Probably. I generally play with a filter "not rated". My MusicIP headless web server has a mix option "Always include seed songs in mix", and the seed song appears as the first track in the mix. I guess that even if I played a filter "not played in last 5 days", the seed song (the one just played) would still be returned as the first song in the mix. Thus if the plugin code doesn't ignore recently played tracks when selecting a song from the returned mix, it would choose the same song. But like I said, this is using the potentially out of date unmaintained DynamicPlaylist integration mode in SugarCube. SugarCube itself may be using different code (I haven't checked). ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: Announce: Spicefly SugarCube Version 2.03 (Automatic MusicIP DJ) for 7.x
Philip and mr_hyde, thank you for the useful hints. When you start with one song and keep skipping songs, the current playlist only shows the 7 last played songs. Maybe that, in combination with the setting 'Remember This Many Played Tracks' greater than 7 explains why the repeating of the same song over and over again is gone now (also after song 21). Therefore, I'll keep the setting of 20. It looks like that did the trick for me. -- humboldt humboldt's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=25671 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] I've made an OSX installer for Inguz...
For any Mac/Inguz users out there: I got annoyed with manually installing the Inguz DSP stuff whenever I changed/upgraded Slimserver so I've taken Muski's install document and wrapped the stages up into a package. The installer copies the DSP and plugin files to the appropriate locations and creates a desktop shortcut to the impulses folder. Restarting Slimserver and configuring the filetypes etc is still a manual process. It uses the latest versions of the plugin/DSP available from the Inguz site and incorporates the changes suggested in this thread to make it compatible with Squeezebox Server 7.4 http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68618 Tested (by me) on a clean OSX 10.5.8 (i.e no previous slimserver). I assume TrackStat is installed since it's required for the "Songs Rated 5" playlist. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74292 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR-Blaster setup issues
On your item # 1 above, the volume display will appear to change, but the volume will not actually change if you have set it to 100%. I may have resolved my issue; extension downloader does not work for IR blaster, at least for me. I played around and stuck in a variety of directories. Re: Announce: Spicefly SugarCube Version 2.03 (Automatic MusicIP DJ) for 7.x
Hi, maybe i got something wrong, but i have no problems with repeated tracks. Assuming you select one track and now Sugargucbe selects the next tracks you can avoid this problem by the use of filters in musicip. I use a filter, where musicip only selects tracks that are not played within the last 5 days. To get the information to the musicip database, i use the custom scan plugin, which updates the information in the musicip database, when the song is played. Then musicip does not give these tracks back to sugarcube and you don't need the setting at all in sugarcube. A problem might be another situation: When you start with a playlist with e.g. 10 songs (lets assume a MIP mood playlist), and sugarcube adds the next songs, then it is possible, that sugarcube adds on of the songs 2-10 as next song, since it is not played recently (-> no info in the MIP database) and it is not in the sugarcube list. -- mr_hyde 2 x Squeezebox 3 - SSOTS 4.1 - Squeezecenter 7.4.2 - QNAP TS439 Pro (3.2.0_1127T) - 4 x 500 GB Hitachi (RAID5) mr_hyde's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6032 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Napster Playlists and shuffle
I just got my brand new Radio for the baby room last night and set it up using MySqueezebox and taught my wife how to make playlists on Napster. I assigned one of the playlists to one of the Radio Favorites button and every time I start it up it works perfectly as far as shuffle goes. It even starts with a different song each time (as I would expect). Like I said, Mysqueezebox (no local SBS) with stock firmware (it downloaded and installed automatically from MSB). Looks like my friendly wunderground neighbor must be > pushing bad data. Maybe I'll look up the closest wunderground airport > code and see if that's any better. Wrong again. I saw the bad temp again this AM, so I restarted SC/SBS with no wunderground setting, and soon saw bad data again. So I tried manually fetching www .weather.com/weather/local/MyZIPHere. It took fewer than 10 fetches for me to get a www. weather.com/weather/today/City+ST+N web page with the bad data. So it seems that weather.com is intermittently returning bad data. The HTML for the bad data is very, very similar to the good -- the only good telltale sign I found (and I confess not to have scoured the really long bits of markup and JS that differed) was an SGML comment that includes a number when the data is real, and an empty string when it's bad. I've added a safeguard in my code to look for that sign. There was one other -- the sunrise/sunset times were off by hours, as if it understood where my ZIP really is and that the forecast it was showing me was for somebody living ~30 degrees west of me. But I don't have a sunrise/sunset algorithm handy, so that's not much help. So I'm back to thinking that wunderground XML is the way to go. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ Free plugins: 'AllQuiet' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AllQuiet.html) 'Auto Dim/AutoDisplay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AutoDisplay.html) 'BlankSaver' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/BlankSaver.html) 'ContextMenu' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/ContextMenu.html) 'DenonSerial' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/DenonSerial.html) 'FuzzyTime' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/FuzzyTime.html) 'KidsPlay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KidsPlay.html) 'KitchenTimer' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KitchenTimer.html) 'PlayLog' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PlayLog.html) 'PowerCenter/BottleRocket' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PowerCenter.html) 'SaverSwitcher' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SaverSwitcher.html) 'SettingsManager' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SettingsManager.html) 'SleepFade' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SleepFade.html) 'StatusFirst' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/StatusFirst.html) 'SyncOptions' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SyncOptions.html) 'VolumeLock' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/VolumeLock.html) peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPlayer stopped working - hangs on "Waiting to sync"
I have a suspicion that with SS - wireless SB3 have a greater tendency to lose sync. The tendency to lose sync also seems to be higher when using Flac (either native Flac or transcoded streams) compared to MP3 (either native or transcoded to MP3). I believe there is a small bug in the SS code either in sync or thread locking and as a result doesn't work as well as it could with the new sync mechanism of 7.3.x. Unfortunately, I don't fully understand the protocol used and there are so many possible configurations, it's hard to know where to start. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73488 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPlayer stopped working - hangs on "Waiting to sync"
Funnily enough it seems be working this week. I haven't knowingly changed anything. iPlayer even syncs v well with the SB3s. Only problem is every so often it just stops, but that is fairly rare. Regarding the sync of FLAC files (just FYI, I realise you are not focussed on this), what seems to happen is that it syncs initially, but when it moves on to the second track in the playlist a gap appears that stays. I will try putting SBS on my laptop which is dual core running Vista. -- rbl rbl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4517 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73488 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
