Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0

2017-08-11 Thread Michael Herger

Hi- I have installed the latest (1.3.0) Spotty, which says it supports
family accounts. I apologize, but it's not obvious to me how to switch
between users within our account -- is there some doc or a how-to
someone could point me to?
Just go to the settings and add the other accounts. It's not a Family
specific feature, but can handle any additional accounts with their own
login etc.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help moving a defunct plugin to a new LMS instance

2017-08-11 Thread mcdudeabides

While I could move the file structure in to the new LMS instance, I
think that because it is running in a docker prevents the changes from
becoming permanent. However it seems that anything I install via the
plugin manager would persist. I removed the cygwin library from my
installed instance. Also the BR (bottlerocket) script is heavily
modified from the original. I hosted it locally and it seemed to
install and persist. I'll attach the file here in case any other person
is trying to accomplish the same.

You will need to modify the repo.xml to point to your hosting spot.

Did you mail me and fix it through an OS update.
It’s good to know that obviously non-jailbroken iOS 9.0-devices are
affected, too (might help finding the issue) but there’s really no other
reason to stick with the 9.0.x iOS versions if you don’t jailbreak,
these releases had some serious issues (like 10.2.x).

I assume this version hasn't been published on github yet? Without
looking at it, I cloned the repo and build it for FreeBSD, but I still
get version 0.6.2, the same as before.

BTW: How do these version numbers compare to 1.2.1 / 1.3.0?

Maybe. Don't know, really. I'm not an expert, just pretend to be one in
forums... :)

After making the plug-in, FreeBSD users would have to know to install
the additional repo: http://www.herger.net/slim-plugins/repo.xml to get
the 'right' spotty for them, correct? I didn't know that existed until 5
minutes ago...
In short, will the experience actually be better than just replacing the
spotty binary? As you pointed out in earlier posts, if someone uses
FreeBSD it is expected they know how to use it.

But, if there is a perfectly good reason, I would be willing to see if
this is something I could sustain for all the spotty releases to come.

I can get Shairtunes working on a Windows machine in my home network but
this is not in use normally. My main LMS install is in a Docker
container running on a QNAP TS-251 and I have two errors which have been
present with all versions of Shairtunes including v0.71.0:
1) None of the players are visible via airplay

Thi smust relate to my particular hardware/OS combination and I am a bit

look correct?

Anyone else having issues upgrading FW using m2p?
I tried with a SB Radio both wireless/wired and it failed every time.

Installed a LMS on windows and it worked directly

FYI, some weeks back Pinkdot (Martin) wrote he was entering a busy
period and probably didn't have time for creating new builds in a month
or so. It's approx. a month ago now, so there's hope for you. But you
know, busy periods sometimes grows or requires a little vacation
afterwards...

But I'm confident we see new builds sooner or later :-)

It all seems to work fine!
In fact, it works directly with automatic helper selection, which I did
not expect in my QNAP case. I will experiment more and "stress" it for a
few days and report, but I will be away for the weekend...

restored server.prefs from Time Machine which didn't help. Deleted
preference files, cache, database from the system preference panel and
now it's up and running.

But if server.prefs didn't fix the issue, then it didn't cause it in the
first place. No need to start from scratch if just one file is broken.
Search for other prefs or *.yml or *.yaml files in the cache and prefs
folder. It's rather large. It shouldn't be difficult to find.

Instead of wiping everything, you could have _restored_ everything from
TM...

This most likely has nothing to do with Spotty. It's LMS failing to read
a configuration file, due to file corruption or invalid YAML syntax.
From the length of the file ("line: 1200") I guess it's the main
server.prefs file. Maybe you can remove it to see whether LMS then would
start up again. If that's the case, then try to fix the issue in the
file and put it back.

For the "file not found" message I stumbled over the following thread.
In Post #1 it is explained (kind of).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mixcloud on Boom (and Squeezplay)

2017-08-11 Thread bpa

I think you should continue this thread on the "official" mixcloud
thread. There is a user there with an Receiver which has the same
problem - perhaps the plugin author can state whether Mixcould mp4 ever
worked on Sb3/Boom/Receiver and is now broken.

The suggest fix is here
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?88286-Mixcloud-plugin=861033=1#post861033

Basically the default decoder faad is not able to handle the Mixcloud
MP4 and the change uses ffmpeg (AKA avconv on some Linux systems).

Ideally the plugin should provide a custom-convert.conf with these
settings.

Assuming resampling is being done for all formats and not just Flac - to
determine what C3PO is doing "wrong" - you should compare the transcode
chain used for normal R3 AAC against thge one used for R3 Flac.
