Hmmm... none of the buffer options used (which I know can cause issues).
Unless they did compile with some non-standard parameters this shouldn't
behave any different than a pCP. I'm sorry to say I have no idea what is
going on there :-(

That does seem to work---at least for now ;>). I'll go with this for a
few days and see if it keeps working. Thanks for your help.

Ah, OK, yes iOS 9 doesn't show a cancel option, I can see that.

But I've tried it on my old iPad 3 with iOS 9, too: it's the same as
with the cancel button: if you deselect the menu by tapping the
background instead of selecting an item both shuffle buttons then work
fine for me until you do a new "hold" gesture on the button on the
NowPlaying screen.

Well, I don't know German, but I think I get it that that last , 8th,
item is the Cancel choice, which I do not have (I only have the 7
choices I mentioned). Yes, I can definitely quit the menu by touching
the background outside the menu.

OS may be the issue. I have an older iPad and it's most current OS
version is 9.3.5. As far as I know, it won't upgrade any further than
that.

The "Shuffle" menu items I get with press and hold are:

Don't Shuffle Playlist
Shuffle by song
Shuffle by album
Song Mix
Album Mix
Artist Mix
Year Mix

Nothing else.

There should be a "Cancel" option at the bottom (as the last item).
Depending on the localization it might be called differently (it's a

Sorry, I guess I'm confused. I think I need you to define what you're
describing as the "Main Screen". Of course, the shuffle, repeat, etc.
are always in the same place on the upper task bar and function the same
everywhere except on the "Now Playing" page where the press and hold of
the shuffle button never brings up the little sub-menu. Also, I don't
see "Cancel" anywhere. If I press and hold the shuffle button on any
other page, there's a "Don't Shuffle Playlist" item when the menu
appears, but nothing that says "Cancel". I must be looking in the wrong
place???

Is there anything in the scanner log or the server log that might give a

Only three of those options make any sense on the main album list
("Album" and "Artist, Year, Album" and "Artist, Album") and iPeng
supports two of them permanently. "Album" is what is shown in the
"Albums" menu and "Artist, Year, Album" is shown under "Artists->All
Albums".

iPeng never sorts except on the track level simply because it can't.
There's a lot more information on the server side (like ARTISTSORT tags
etc.) that iPeng has no access to that's why sorting always is being
done by the server. It's the same for the web interface.

What does the web interface show if you select album-sort?

Thanks Michael.

Squeezelite is normally started using systemd with options -a
4096:1024:16:0 -n 'Squeezelite Woonkamer' -f /var/log/squeezelite.log
This is the dafult settings Dietpi installs it with , except for the -C
5, which I removed to keep the HDMI connection with my receiver alive.

If I remove the -a 4096:1024:16:0 and reboot, it consistently stops
after the one song. Below the log when I restarted a stopped track.
Again it stopped after one track, but no 'Has
spotify://track:xxx been played? yes', with Spotty debug on
info.
I no longer get audio over HDMI. Is that the :0 option?

Is there another option I should try?

I did this and same result.
I rarely use Album View, so I it doesn't matter to me, however, maybe
iPeng can sort the list and give options like the WebUI does:

Hm, I have no idea why your server returns your albums in this order,
but this is how it returns them. iPeng doesn’t sort the main albums
list, it uses it exactly as it’s supplied by the server.
The index is probably wrong because a wrong index is returned for the
last album under „#“ (the index to be used is also provided by the
server).

I’d try to restart the server and do another Clear, looks like
something went wrong in the phase where the server builds the album
index.

You are probably doing a Clear on your library and the library is
incomplete?

Otherwise, do you have a screen shot of your last albums page?
Is this the main Albums list or albums for a particular artist?

But have you tried "Cancel" instead of selecting one of the menu options
- like I wrote in my post above?
If I do that it keeps working until you do another long press.

No idea what causes this issue, must be a gesture recognizer precedence
problem, unfortunately quite common in iOS once you start using gesture
recognizers.

It works, but just once. On the main screen, if I press and hold the
shuffle button and then use the menu to choose, say, shuffle by song, or
don't shuffle.then tapping the button on the NowPlaying screen will
toggle the shuffle function on or off.

But, after the one successful tap on the NowPlaying screen, subsequent
taps are non-functional.

Changes:

- Initial work on SlimBrowse - only used in favorites and radios so
  far.
- Dutch, German, and French translations.
- Group players have no replaygain setting.
- Show album year in play queue.
- Don't sort favorites - as the order can be determined in default web
  UI.
- Ensure volume is only ever adjusted whilst dialog is shown.
- Add insert action.

Hopefully this fixes the update and volume issues.

There shouldn't be any change. What happens if you tap the shuffle
button?

I played around with it a bit and it does indeed look like there's a
weird bug: if you do the "hold" gesture on the shuffle button on the
NowPlaying screen shuffle stops to work on _both_ screens until you also
do the hold gesture on the shuffle button on the main screen, after that
and pressing "cancel" both buttons work normally again.

The "hold" menu is just to show the extended options while just tapping
should toggle between shuffling by track and turning shuffle off. Looks
like something's wrong with the gesture recognizer or the resulting menu
on the NowPlaying screen.

Hi Pippin,

In past versions (I'm using the latest version of iPeng on an iPad) I
used to be able turn the shuffle function on and off from the "now
playing" screen. This no longer seems to work. Is that on purpose or a
bug? Or, have I inadvertently done something to change this?

When I'm in the iPeng screen where all tracks are listed, tapping and
holding the shuffle button brings up a menu where I can choose from
various types of shuffle. I'm o.k. with shuffling from there, but it
was nice to just be able to do it from "now playing".

Repeatable.

If Material is controlling player "A", and is running on my phone (even
if it's in the background), then powering off player "A" by any other
means (jivelite touch screen, jivelite with IR remote, Squeezer, Squeeze
Ctrl, or the default browser on a PC) then the volume is instantly set
to zero.

Powering off Player "A" if Material is controlling another player has no
effect on player "A's" volume.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2018-10-29 Thread BosseJ

Thank you for a really nice skin! Works very well in normal use (after
disabling the "automatic update of plugins" until next release),
especially nice in a Chrome window started with the "--app" parameter. I
use it all the time now. Simple and clean :-)

However, I tried to setup the test config mentioned last in the Readme
and couldn't make it work:

> The skin may be installed on a machine separate to LMS. Currently this
> is how its developed. e.g.
>
> cd in the material folder
> Start python's simple HTTP server - e.g. python -m SimpleHTTPServer
> Access on localhost via http://localhost:8000/?lms=192.168.0.1
> (replace 192.168.0.1 with the IP address of the LMS server)
>

I have tried on two PC's (both are Linux Mint 18.3) using latest Firefox
and Chrome, but it seems to hang with a rotating symbol and text
"Looking for players". When I open a java console it shows recurring
messages as quoted below:

Code:

Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'http://linux2:9000/jsonrpc.js' from origin
'http://localhost:8000' has been blocked by CORS policy: No
'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.
  server.js:76
Error: Network Error at e.exports (axios.min.js:8)
  at XMLHttpRequest.l.onerror (axios.min.js:8)

I downloaded the plugin as a Zip-file from Github, unzipped and started
the python SimpleHTTPServer with the 'material' dir as working
directory.
Do you have any idea as to what I'm missing? It seems a key message to
the LMS server ("linux2" in my case) is blocked on the client by the
browser.

Please note - this is not a big issue in any way. The skin is actually
working very well indeed.

I have a TODO file
(https://raw.githubusercontent.com/CDrummond/lms-material/master/TODO)
that lists the features, issues, etc. that are TODO. Managing all
players (so volume and power) is on the list. Putting on/off buttons on
the list would be a little cramped on a mobile screen.

I wander away for a few days and ... nice to see all the work going on!

I see the speaker icon is now dim for off. What I do like about the
traditional skin is that I can click the power button in the player list
dropdown without selecting the player, typically when I have left one on
by mistake and I start playing on another (they are all synced).Even if
the material framework doesn't permit that level of interaction could
there be a way of, at minimum, turning all players off?

I am going to try to keep up with this thread, but it's moving fast!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2018-10-29 Thread cpd73

Looking at the code I -think- I know what might be causing this. Either
way, I have a work-around where the skin will check that it's volume
dialog is visible before sending any volume commands - and before
showing this dialog, retrieve the current volume. I'll experiment more
later, and make a release soon.

Hi - I'm un-digging that post. I thought I asked the question as well
but cannot find. Would that be possible? I have a lot of players and the
lack of randomness is not very convenient. Of course, it's not just the
alphabetical absolute order, you want to sort by "masters" and then
slaves under each master should themselves be ordered.
