I tried all 3 options and I tried MP3 and FLAC at different settings too just in case it was some kind of constraint somewhere. Presumably Shairtunes is using Shairport (Or a large portion of it's code) as it's core? If so are there any other options for buffering or similar that are not shown in the web settings GUI? Obviously it's not an issue with Shairport, my network or devices and I'm trying to work out what the variable is on a more detailed level than Sharport/Shairtunes so I can work out what's stopping me from having glorious whole house streaming audio. justinj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68818 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106289 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yah, slartibartfast also reminded me of the browse and queue panes and why it is there. I get it. As for the progress meter, I also agree with you. As I had said, I didn't really like my own attempts to make it not look like a divider. I did like the old version's lighter color for the progress bar, but I also can see it would not be visible if the album art was some light color. And the times on the sides didn't look good to me either after I mocked up what it would look like. As always, I appreciate your efforts. Yes, "the forum formerly known as computeraudiophile", now audiophilestyle whether we like it or not. There is an Official Qobuz Issues Thread there, along with several other threads devoting to the service and the upcoming USA launch. Ok, I figured it out. (1) click on the button to select the player you want to use (top left of screen) (2) Click on Manage players (3) Click on the triple vertical dots over the player you want to be the "master" player. (far right of each player) (4) Select the players you want sync with this master. I will say I do not find this very intuitive. With Sonos it is super-duper easy to select the players you want to play synchronized. Two clicks and you are choosing the players. I would prefer to be able to click on the "select" player button and then click on a "Synchronize players" button to jump to selecting. Assume the player I already have selected will be the "master" player. That is just my opinion of course. This interface is light years ahead of the default theme for usability for the entire family. I can live with the current setup for sure. But I do know I will definitely have to show other family members how to sync players regularly as I do not think they will figure it out on their own. And I also know not all will remember the extra steps required as they will only want to sync play occasionally. Anyone else with ideas on how to selecting sync play could be implemented that is intuitive? Thank you again for this awesome skin. That is how you can see what is playing while in Browse and Queue. That certainly may complicate things. Just seems redundant on the Playing tab. But given its purpose in Browse, and Queue, I don't think it would be popular to totally remove it. I suppose it could be possible to not show it while in Playing, but I could understand leaving it as it is, also. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Stylistic Suggestion. Since the progress meter was changed and since the nowplaying art background was added, the now playing part of the screen has much less contrasting color with the bottom view selector panel and the progress meter looks like a divider. Old: 26548 Now: 26549 I took the liberty mocking up a slight stylistic change as follows. The Song Title under the Player Name seems redundant, so could be removed. And then make the bottom panel color contrast more with the NowPlaying area, maybe the same color as the top panel. I mocked up progress meter times left and right of the meter, and the meter's color lighter, but I don't think it is an improvement now looking at it, so nevermind on that part. Something like this. 26550 Just a suggestion. I already think you are a wizard in terms of style and you can do better than I ever could. This probably applies to about a third of my library - 20,000 tracks, so will give some though about batch converting the lot to FLAC anyway as I've well and truly left the apple ecosystem behind. foxwelljsly's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68764 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110011 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

There is a mismatch between LMS which has only Artist, track and album and BBC which (IIRC) has Station, Program, title, short description and long description - as well as a different set metadata for live with programs, descripition, tracks, segments etc. Complicated by the fact that Touch and Webui can show more info than Boom or SB3 (too much info on Boom takes too long to scroll) So all I do is compromise - users can alter the code (and some have) to suit preferences. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109826 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.6 (and higher) & BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 (and higher) Support
I have found that as a general usage thing, adding my favourite ten or so radio shows as podcasts makes them easier to find. Pet peeve: Check out Book of the Week on iPlayer Extras. You'll see that you get the title of the episode, not the title of the programme. A lot are simply named "Episode 1" etc. If you then click on it, you do indeed see the full title, which might be "Book of the Week, Handel in London - The Making of a Genius, Episode 2". If you changed it so that the full title displayed then I'd never find anything on my Boom, so it's not a feature request, it's really just a moan at the BBC for tagging things so badly. Enable player.source logging to INFO and, note time and then try to play the track. After a 10 secs, clear playlist and look at server.log file. Copy ALL lines from log into a plain text files (e.g. use Notepad) between noted start time and when track was stopped. Save file, zip and attach to a post so it can be examined. If you are familiar with the trasncoding process - look at the log for the file paths of the applications doing transcoding and check the application are present and executable. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110011 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
