Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X

2019-03-14 Thread rgdawson

This is a fix to the caching scheme. Thanks *bwaldron * for the catch.

- SLX will cache all Material Skin localStorage settings persistently
to handle fact that MaterialSkin does not save layout as a server
default, and actually to prevent every computer and person from having
to have all the same settings. After Craig's explanation, I realized
that what I did in 2.1.5 was not a good solution in a multi-device,
multi-user situation at all. So SLX will remember all of Material
Skin's settings that it stores in localStorage between runs.

After years of enjoying SDT-wu, I tried to switch to weather version.
I tried to install it for hours, and finally http instead of https in
repository did the trick.
Now I am stuck again. I can not get the data from weather.com, question
mark is always on the screen of my classic3.
I am sure I am using right code for Zagreb Croatia : HRXX0005:1:HR but I
had to enter it under WU Station code. Am I wrong?
Plugin settings seems somehow weird with those wu-logo, and all those
empty boxes and empty pull-down menus.

Also, where one can found codes for data, because that list in player

I'm sorry if this is already answered in this lng thread ;) I
have a Synology Diskstation DS212+ and a Squeezebox Duet. This used to
work till july last year or so. After that i moved and didn't reconnect
the NAS until this week. Spotify isnt working anymore. I read that
Spotify has changed things and the Spotty plugin does work but not with
ARM powered NAS? Please confirm if it's impossible to make this setup
work again, otherwise i have to lookout for a new streaming solution.

Are you using the Spotty plugin or some older Spotify plugin? Please
check Settings/Advanced/Spotty: it should tell you which helper binary
it's using - or give you an error if it didn't find any compatible file.
But I'd expect it to work. Linux/ARM in general might be one of the most
popular platforms to run LMS/Spotty on nowadays.

Thanks Craig, your explanation makes sense for this setting. I will
adapt SLX to remember this setting itself from the previous session. I
already do this with a couple things that get lost when localStorage is
no longer persistent with SLX.

That makes sense when you consider multiple devices inheriting this

No, material does not save that setting in its defaults. To me, its not

You can manually download latest version of the plugin here:

Code:

https://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/sdt-weather-com/SuperDateTime5-9-49.zip

Unzip it and put the unzipped folder in your "Customer added plugins"
folder, on Mac typically:
/Users//Library/Application Support/Squeezebox/plugin/

Reboot your Mac (or just restart the "slimserver" process if you know
how) and the plugin should be installed. It will continue to load
whenever slimserver is started until you delete the folder or un-check
the box on LMS "plugins" tab.

Sadly, that didn't work either. When I entered the repo it appears to be

And when I restart LMS the SDT plugin is removed from the Plugins

Agreed, Squeezer is not a player just a very basic control app. Clean,
fast, and stable, but basic.

A slower but more feature-rich alternative would be the LMS web app.
With the Material Skin, it's optimized for mobile and quite enjoyable.

I use both as needed.

LMS: SGC microJukebox running Sonicorbiter OS
Control apps: Squeezelite-X on Win 10; Squeezer or Material web app on
Android
Players: Duet, Touch (two), Mac SqueezePlay, Win Squeezelite-X on laptop
and HTPC

Try

instead.
It’s http instead of https and is known to work on older LMS on Synology

That isn't correct. All of the control apps send their commands to LMS.
LMS controls the player it is told to. A control app is in this respect
exactly the same as the web gui.

When you say "stream to my amp" what is the player connected to your amp
- a proper SB device, a Pi, one of the bridge plugins or what?

I don't use Squeezer but my understanding is that it is a controller
only.

SqueezePlay is a software player that should connect to LMS and play on
your PC through the PCs sound card. It cannot be used to stream to
anywhere else. Since this works it suggests that the fault is not with
LMS.

Where is your LMS by the way?

I can add the icon to the default builds so everyone can benefit if
you'd like.

Also, it appears that selected utf8 audio devices by name in
squeezelite-win was several issues. beta3 confirms that all devices can
be chosen by number without invalid device errors. This was cause by
several recent changes that I reverted. I haven't had anyone try
selecting a device with unicode characters in the name to confirm that
the unicode changes work.

I moved squeezelite-win development to win7 and upgraded all the
decoders as part of the beta builds. Unfortunately, squeezelite-win now
requires a newer VS2008 redist version, which is going to be a PITA as
the console error gives no clue to the reason. I may have to move it
back to xp if I can't find a solution.

This may not be a BBCiplayer issue - the log from a player is irrelevant
to the player. All images and sound comes from LMS. So please answer
some question first to decided where theproblem really lies.

Images comes form one part of BBC, audio from another which may be
geolocked.

What version of BBCiPlayer are you runnign ? If it is not 1.6.2 or
higher then the problem cou;d be due to BBCV changes.
Whatr version of LMS ? A bug in LMS was fixed in 7.9.1 fater July 2018.
This help BBCiPlayer when playing Live streams but fix is essential to
1.6.2
What platforms is LMS running on - Windows, OSX, Linux etc. 1.6.2
changes mainly affected Windows users.
Are you in the UK or not ? If not in the UK are you using a VPN ? (e.g.
NordVPN had a problem providing UK service to non UK users)
What are thre BBCiPlayer setting ? For 1.6.2 they shoudl be DASH > HLS >
MP3 > FlashAAC
What programs are you trying to play in Listen Again ? Some BBC
programs are only available as podcast and so don't play - a fix for
this in 1.6.3

Hmmm confusing
To me it seems like Squeezer is controlling LMS, which in return sends
it feedback to Squeezer.
They seem to (inter)act the same way (when one is stopped, the other one
is. When one is paused, the other one is, when one selects a different
station, the other one does. vice versa).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin

2019-03-14 Thread Michael Herger

However, in my other system, with LMS installed under Windows 10 and
Squeezelite-X as a player, the lyrics are neither displayed nor cached
for that particular track, and of course the question mark is not
allowed in file names under Windows. In that situation it would be great
if 1) the track was displayet, and 2) the lyrics file was cached with a
file name where the question mark stripped off.

Thanks, that makes sense. I'll look into that.

I can send you the track if you like, but really it should work this way
for any track with a question mark in the song name tag.

Title/artist is good enough, thanks.
