AFAICT - V2.1 would not work on Windows regardless of LMS version. It's
strange, the code changes a LMS Read-only property but only the Windows
version of LMS flags it as an error.

Anyway - glad it is working for you now.

Thanks for the plugin until sometime ago it was working as it should.
I've installed the update but still no luck.
It does show a split sec some information, although I'm not sure if it
is correct, but after that it only shows the FIP logo.

Weird - I've just tried a few live and listen again and no message.
Looking at the code - it's kind of odd that there is no "title" field
just "artist" in the metadata so looks like it is a "last resort" when
all else has failed.

Every listen again programme that I have tried.

I notice that the iPlayer plugin regularly logs errors when fetching
metadata which don't actually look like errors to me. There's a patch
at
https://gitlab.com/mavit/BBCiPlayer/commit/1e043b8d6342e6c6d0a329b6a88ff657784393b6
to cause these messages only to be emitted at higher log levels.

Thanks! I end up with a small unix-executable, "lame".
I put it in this folder,

Are there users of V2.1 on Windows and it is playing OK ? If so on what
versions of WIndows and LMS ?

I'm not sure your skill level skill but for Alexa to control LMS there
is the thread

Yes I assumed that because in first post OP says a cable from Echo
going into the mic input of his LMS sever.

Argh ... just spotted France Musique B.O.
That is next on the list because although they are using a pre-existing
meta feed for temporary stations they are using a different stream URL
so it is not spotted.

Your answer is based on the source (Echo Dot) being adjacent to his
server.
I have read the OPs posts differently i.e. I have read them to mean his
Echo Dot is in his Living Room 15 metres away.
It sounds to me like the server is a central system with 6 USB DAC
outputs presumably wired to

OK.
You should have pulseaudio-utils installed - this package includes the
"parec" command used to record Pulseaudio sources.
You should also have Pulseaudio GUI applications under menu "Sound &
Video" "PulseAudio Volume Control" & "Pulse Audio Volume Meter
(Capture)"

Unfortunately it didn't work either. What I did now because I couldn't
imagine that I was the only one with the mistake. I uninstalled my LMS
and reinstalled it directly with Pinkdots version 24.
After a first try with only a part of my collection I can say that your
regular plugin works. I
I would like to distribute the sound of Alexa over LMS to the players.
But if there is a solution here that can be used to control the LMS by
voice, then of course that would be even better. But with step 1 I would
be very satisfied!
