Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.8.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
v2.8.5 is out there. This version hopefully will fix Spotty locking up LMS when trying to get an access token. We've seen Spotty completely blocking LMS for up to several minutes (for those who decided to wait that long before killing LMS...). I've previously tried to mitigate this issue. But it wasn't working on Windows at all, and probably on none of the other platforms either... So I totally rewrote this with a less elegant, but hopefully working solution :-). Two times within 10 minutes: at 17h53 and 17h59: https://www.dropbox.com/s/84oqw3ysoq0woeo/server25-09.log?dl=0 But this time there was no token refresh around those issues. So that's not the trigger. One more idea: go to Settings/Advanced/File Type. Disable Spotty -> Ogg Vorbis streaming. FWIW: I just listened to https://open.spotify.com/album/30ibtgslgzmMRbQnWl9LTy?si=J0h02UHLSpW8H1YKVTIqXQ - which has three tracks longer than 10 minutes. Serveo A portscanner on 9000 wouldn’t find it. Correct: as you wouldn't get your own IP address, but only a virtual host name, a simple IP scanner wouldn't find your LMS. A visitor would need to know your host name. That's different from (and quite a bit more secure than) simple port forwarding on the router, where an IP scanner would find you. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Serveo is the least attractive option, but I added it to the list because people have preferences for ways of doing things and it's yet another way. I have found it to be flaky as far as availability in my testing. If I were using serveo myself, I'd always combine it with apache as an extra layer for auth. That way, serveo wouldf handle the 'front-end' of me not having to open a port, not having to do DDNS, not get a cert. And apache would do the 'back end' of forwarding the serveo tunnel through a basic-auth capable local proxy in my network. Rather involved, but hey there's more than one road that leads to Rome. philchillbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68920 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111016 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 'MediaServer' *certified* Alexa skill for LMS
There's a new full-function *certified *Alexa skill to control LMS in the Alexa skills store. It's called *MediaServer *and you can find it by browsing under the category 'Music & Audio' or by doing a directed search for any of LMS / Squeezebox / MediaServer in the Alexa app or web-portal. Because this is a certified skill, it's available to anybody with an Alexa/Echo device _without__any kind of developer or beta accounts. During skill account-linking, you fill in an externally-accessible _https__path to your LMS server and that's it. It has been extensively tested on a library with 70K+ songs and supports a natural, conversational interaction style. How well it will work for you will, of course, depend on how good your tags are. It uses a freemium model, and is available in English for both the en-US (for the USA) and en-GB Amazon stores (26 countries in EU). The skill supports 61 command categories, of which some examples: Play the *album *Ghost Stories *by* Coldplay. Play the *compilation *album American Road Trip. Play the *single* Sunny Days *by *Armin van Buuren. Play the *song *Chasing Cars *by *Snow Patrol. Play songs *about *Girls. Play songs *featuring *Eddie Vedder. Play a *random album* by Steve Winwood. Play a *random single* by Madonna. Play *some *Deep House. Play my Supperclub *playlist*. *Add this track* to my Fitness playlist. *Bookmark *this track. *Blacklist *this song. *Do I have* the album Giants by Chicane? *Do I have* the compilation album 101 Driving Songs? *Follow me* to the Sittingroom. *Transfer *playlist from Livingroom to Study. *Synchronize *the Bedroom, Bathroom, Office and Nursery players. *Add *the Guestroom player *to *the group. *Remove *Library player *from *the group. *Unsynchronize *my players. *Sleep *the Bedroom player *in* 8 mins 30 seconds. *Sleep* this player after the* current song*. *Cancel sleep* mode for the Livingroom player. What's *playing*? What's *next*? What's the *duration *of this song / playlist? What's the Bedroom player *status*? *Discover *my players. *What players* do I have? *Assume *the Livingroom player. I'm within *earshot *of Diningroom. *Play */ Resume. *Pause*. *Stop *Playback. Skip / *Next* Track. *Previous *Track. *Goto *track 12. Skip *ahead* 2 minutes. Skip *back *44 seconds. Seek *directly* to 17 minutes and 12 seconds. Set the *volume *to 60. *Increase *the volume by 10. *Decrease* the volume by 25. *Mute *the Livingroom player. *Unmute* the Kitchen. Turn *On *the Library player. Power *Off *Bedroom. Power Down *everything*. Turn On *shuffle*. Shuffle *again*. Enable *shuffle-by-album* on the Kitchen player. Enable *shuffle-by-song* for the Bedroom player. Deactivate *shuffle*. Enable / Disable *Repeat*. Turn On *repeat-playlist* mode. Enable *repeat-song* mode. Deactivate *repeat *for the Basement player. Each Echo can be associated with a -default -Squeezebox ('assume') so as to allow subsequent player-name omission in utterances. Echos in open-plan spaces can be designated as being within -earshot -of each other to avoid confusion around what player is thus targeted. Finally, you can ask the skill to provide longer or shorter spoken responses/confirmations. Subscription: Certain of the above commands require a monthly subscription which is handled as an ISP (In-Skill Purchase) by Alexa. Say "Tell Media Server I want full access" and follow the spoken instructions. You will need to have enabled voice purchasing in the Alexa App (ask "Alexa, how do I enable voice purchasing"). Extensive help with setup, plus an exhaustive command reference detailing all the ways commands can be spoken, can be found at https://smartskills.tech/mediaserver philchillbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68920 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111016 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

They might have turned it off again - 404 not found. Hopefully because they have finished their preparation rather than changing things because they have seen that they have been spotted. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin
I *think* that albums appear in the Favorites in date added order (most recently added at the top), at least in IPeng. Allo Digione Signature (+LiFePo Batteries), Touch, Metrum Jade, Bryston B4 SST2, PMC OB1i speakers, HP Proliant Microserver/Ubuntu, PC/Windows 7, iPad 4, iPeng, Squeezepad. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin
I'm loving listening to Qobuz in CD quality on my Squeezebox Touch. I mainly listen to classical and Jazz recordings and concur with the above that it would be nice to separate the individual works but my main difficulty is that there doesn't seem to be any way to sort the favorite albums into alphabetical (or any other) order, they just seem to appear randomly making it very difficult to find anything when you have a large number of favorites. I appreciate that I can search the whole of qobuz for a particular album, but finding a particular recording of say Beethoven's 5th symphony is difficult unless you know all details (conductor etc) of the recording that you are after especially if you can only remember the album by it's cover art! tromstar's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68131 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97146 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

No idea and nothing in BBC vendor feeds show it. All the earlier info indicated that it would be a DAB station so perhaps for broadcast rights it may be UK only. Some of the info in the web pages seems to indicate a station id called bbc_radio_two_beatles Until something is broadcast can't say where the program will turn up. I expect Extras will find them somewhere under A-Z as that is derived from BBC web pages and BBC pages says "catchup on BBC Sounds" If the id is real then the live UK-only iplayer URL may look like (with R2 logo) Code: iplayer://live?hls=http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_high/ak/bbc_radio_two_beatles.m3u8&dash=http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/dash/uk/dash_full/ak/bbc_radio_two_beatles.mpd&icon=http://radio-service-information.api.bbci.co.uk/logos/bbc_radio_two/128x128.png&onair=bbc_radio_two_beatles bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109826 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
