I mean the part where you finger signal strength and battery but then
the left side.

As suggested I set the Zone 2 input to another input (TV) and then
turned it off. Turned on LMS and when amp responded it had selected
correct volume and input (LMS) as per the Z2QS. It may be messy in the
log but it gets there!

Thanks, Mars. What version of the plugin were you running? It looks like
v4.0? Please install the 'v4.1 beta from Github'
and then update DenonAvpComms.pm and Plugin.pm from the attached files
below. The new version doesn't just ignore QS timeouts; it detects them
and then proactively syncs the player volume to the AVR volume in the
same way that it is done for the main zone. As I said, this is all done
behind the scenes and should be transparent to the user. I tested using
the dummy Zone 2 on my AVR, but I'd like to see some debug of a
real-world situation.

I've found the F-droid app is often very lax about updating the
repositories. That's one of several reasons I prefer to use the F-droid
Classic app, which makes it easy to do a manual refresh.

I totally misunderstood your question, even though you said "download
from Squeezer." Reading comprehension seems to be lacking. Sorry!

I do see the download option when I click on the three-dot menu near the
middle of the Now Playing display (mostly surrounded by a crudely-drawn
red shape in the image below):

34534

It downloads to the Music folder on the Android device. There are some
settings available to determine where the download goes within that
folder.

track->rating just reads the database, it does not check if the file
exist.
If a track has been removed and you perform a rescan the entry will be
removed from tracks table but it will remain in track_persistence. In
this situation objectForUrl would return undef

As an alternative to check for undef, you could probably read the rating
using SQL directly from track_persitence also. Reading directly from
track_persitence would work, going through a $track object won’t work
since there isn’t an entry in tracks table. It depends if you want the
backup to contain information for all previously renamed/moved/deleted
tracks or not.

In normal situation a user is probably not interested to keep
information for deleted tracks. The only situation when it could be
useful is if you move all the music to a new disc/path and doesn’t do a
backup before the move. In this situation LMS would loose all ratings
since all file URLs are changed, but if the user could do a backup to
export the information they could do a “replace all” in a text editor of
the backup file and restore it to restore the ratings. However, this is
a corner case, in normal situation the user should have a backup file
from before the move and could just use that. I think my suggestion
would be to instead do filtering of undef when creating the backup and
only store ratings for tracks that exist in tracks table.

F-droid really wants you to install their apk on your phone, so that's
what's most obvious, near the top of the page. But they do make apk

any more it still has a working download function.
This puts it above LMS which is visually far more appealing.

This is what I've observed as well; the QS message is displayed on the

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin

2021-05-03 Thread SamY

Okay. I think this is the one. (Warning: I once said that about my
ex-wife.)

After much thought and a few 'aha!' moments, I have come up with some
significant changes in the communications logic of the plugin that I
think will result in much greater stability and less dependence on the
nature and timing of AVR responses. The bottom line is that all zones
will now support synching player volume to the AVR, both at startup and
optionally on track changes. In addition, all zones support the
re-execution of the Quick Select command when the client 'pause' button
is tapped twice quickly within .25 seconds, depending on the client app.
It has been tested and works with Squeezer and SqueezeCtrl. The
usefulness of this function is debatable but it can be handy in
situations where the AVR source has been temporarily changed. Timeouts
on the Quick Select command, which seem to be more common in secondary
zones for some reason, should now be handled in a manner that is mostly
transparent to the user. I have found that, in most cases, the QS
commands complete successfully even if the AVR is late responding to
it.

So here are TWO replacement modules to be copied to the beta v4.1 plugin
directory. I am hopeful that your results will be much better than with
the previous version. Good luck!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Leds on the PI and HifiBerry turn off

2021-05-03 Thread Greg Erskine

You need to read the README file.

Assuming hifiberry-dacplus works for your DAC?

Code:

Name: hifiberry-dacplus
Info: Configures the HifiBerry DAC+ audio card
  Load: dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus,=
Params: 24db_digital_gain Allow gain to be applied via the PCM512x codec
  Digital volume control. Enable with
  "dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus,24db_digital_gain"
(The default behaviour is that the Digital
volume control is limited to a maximum of
0dB. ie. it can attenuate but not provide
gain. For most users, this will be desired
as it will prevent clipping. By appending
  the 24dB_digital_gain parameter, the Digital
volume control will allow up to 24dB of
gain. If this parameter is enabled, it is the
responsibility of the user to ensure that
the Digital volume control is set to a value
that does not result in clipping/distortion!)
slave Force DAC+ Pro into slave mode, using Pi as
master for bit clock and frame clock.
leds_offIf set to 'true' the onboard indicator LEDs
are switched off at all times.

dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus,leds_off

Ah, yes. It's an issue w/Firefox on macOS and certain pull-down menus,
and perhaps very fast mouse settings.

If the mouse is *perfectly* still (and you don't twitch even a pixel)
when you click the mouse button, the menu works fine. But, even the
slightest travel causes the triple-flash, dismissal. Works fine in
other browsers w/out issue, and works on Firefox on Windows. I'm trying
to hunt down any information on settings that affect this.

Of note, this Settings pull-down menu is reduced in length in Firefox
(macOS, Windows) and it presents a very short scrolling list (which
requires a fair amount of scrolling given the context). In other
browsers, the menu is shown completely (and it should be, because the
monitor is large enough).

That looks like the "Classic" skin that "Material" is based on, but it
appears there for me if I use the Classic skin.

Hey, nice to see you again.

So the music file was deleted manually without a rescan afterwards. When
I do track->rating to *get* a track rating does LMS check if the file
exists? Or do you have to perform some (failed) action on it before it's
marked dead?

I guess when the backup function does
-$track =
Slim::Schema->resultset("Track")->objectForUrl($BACKUPtrackURL);-
it would return undef and I could catch this. Since I use SQL to set the
trackrating directly in the persistent database and not -$track->rating-
to *set* the rating, I'm not sure if the restore function would mind
processing urls for missing tracks.

Anyway, will look into it.

That's an issue with your browser/OS then. Works fine for me under Linux

Thanks. Truth be told, I'm not entirely sure which file/track it was,
although I could probably figure it out.

But given that there's no urgency whatsoever, I going to do as you
suggested and wait for a new plugin release that ignores tracks that no
longer exist.

Now back to the music :)

However, irrespective of me playing 24/44 or 24/96, i'm only getting the

I've checked the qobuz plugin on LMS log and there is no error, the log
is finding the hires album fine it seems, but only 16/44 is played as
can be seen in the log (different track played here [21-05-03

Am I missing something fairly basic, or is this something I'm hoping

You would have to restore it and perform a rescan. However, if it isn’t
urgent I’d just wait for a new plugin release that ignores tracks that
no longer exists.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] No audio output when using squeezelite as service on Raspberry Pi

2021-05-03 Thread wangenkuesse

Hello everyone... I am new to this...

I use Squeezelite on an Raspberry Pi with Raspian Buster. When I start
squeezelite on the shell it works nicely.

When i start it as service i have no audio output.

What do i do the wrong way?

Start from shell:

Would it be possible to hide non-applicable settings? For example, I
have Alarms disabled, yet the interface shows a lot of noise given it's
disabled.

erland,

Yep, that may well be the problem. I did delete a track (it's a long
story), and it may well have been a rated track.

Assuming that is the problem, would restoring the file to its proper
location solve the problem?

Thanks for your reply.

I suspect it’s related to a moved, renamed or deleted track. If a track
is rated and after this is moved, renamed or deleted it will remain in
track_persistent table but be removed/renamed in tracks table and this
will cause the error you are seeing. LMS isn’t able to keep ratings for
moved, renamed or deleted tracks but it’s still there in the database
under the old file url in the track_persistent table.

I'm not sure what the intended behavior is for the Server Settings drop
down menu, but its behavior is inconsistent.

I presume a single click is supposed to open the menu, and another (or
an Escape) should close it. But most of the time it quickly opens,
flashes 3 times, and immediately closes.

Infrequently a single click will open the menu and leave it open.

It seems the correct behavior is to open on a single click, and remain
open until another click has selected an item, and it should close if
re-clicked, or if there is an off-target click, or Escape is pressed.

afriend,

Thanks for your quick response. It's probably something I've fouled up,
so if you don't see an immediate solution don't worry about it. As long
as I can rate tracks and produce playlists based on those ratings (which
I am able to do) I'm AOK.

So, I restarted LMS and ran a manual backup. This time I did get another
backup file and it notes an additional 17 tracks that I've rated since I
last produced a backup file, but still no list of tracks and their
ratings. Here's the content of that new backup file:

And here is the information that might be useful to you:

Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.2 - 1619728303 @ Fri Apr 30 00:42:49

Audio::Scan: 1.02
IO::Socket::SSL: 2.068
Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.58 (sqlite 3.22.0)

And this appears to be the relevant section of the Server Log:

RL should work just the way you're using it.
Could be a bug in the backup function, maybe OS specific or perl version
related, I don't know. I'll look into it but I'll need your help because
I can't reproduce this bug here right now.
So I'll definitely need more information:
please *restart your LMS*. Then try to create a manual backup and post
your *server.log*, your OS and Perl version here.

I know, what I mean is that in the case of Qobuz, @mherger mentioned how
Qobuz has stopped sharing developer documentation with him, as they
don't consider him a "big developer". And if somehow Qobuz breaks
compatibility with LMS with an update or something, we're pretty much
screwed. In the case of Deezer, they mentioned on their forums that they
didn't see much point in trying to make FLAC work with LMS because they
thought that LMS was old software not being updated anymore. I think
these smaller companies like Qobuz and Deezer need to take small
developers more seriously.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Ratings Light

2021-05-03 Thread radish112

I have a question about the ratings backup file that the Ratings Light
plugin is to create, either manually or automatically via a scheduled
time specified by the user.

After installing the Ratings Light plugin I chose the parent folder into
which RL files would be saved. I then ran a manual backup, which
produced the RL folder and--inside that newly-created folder--a backup
file. Here are the contents of the backup file:

---

---

RL states that the backup file allows one to "Backup all rated tracks
(from your entire library) and their rating values in a single backup
file," so I was surprised to find no tracks with ratings data in the
file , particularly given that RL found 404 rated tracks. (I used to use
Trackstat, but to be on the safe side I uninstalled it when I upgraded
LMS to version 8.1.2. I guess the tracks that RL discovered are from
Trackstat; the Now Playing screen in LMS continues to show the correct
number of "stars" for tracks I have rated even though I uninstalled
Trackstat, and I have run several "clear library and rescan everything"
scans since then.

I thought that maybe I needed to play and rate some more tunes and then
run the manual backup again, maybe "waking up" the now-installed RL
somehow. So I did that, and this time when I ran the manual backup, RL
produced no additional backup file at all. I tried a couple of more
times with the same outcome.

So my questions are:
How do I get RL to produce a backup file that shows my rated tracks and
their ratings?
How do I get RL to produce an updated version of that file every time I
choose to run a manual backup?

I'm grateful for the Ratings Light backup; I just need to learn how to
succeed at using i

That's what I've heard. That companies like Deezer and Qobuz find it
hard to compete with multimillion dollar companies like Spotify, so I
try to support them by subscribing to them, but sometimes they act like
they don't really care about LMS

I had exactly the same issue, same logs observed. The disabling IPv6
worked for me too. This started happening after an upgrade of service
and router from ISP which I guess is the reason behind the change.

It's a little hard to see it in the debug log due to all the YouTube
plugin errors but your Quick Select is still timing out, David. As an
experiment, try changing the Zone 2 input to something other than your
Squeezebox player and then turn the AVR off before powering on the SB,
the purpose being to see if the Quick Select command is actually being
executed correctly despite the timeout. Although everything appears to
work from a functionality standpoint, the QS timeout results in a
failure to initially synch the SB volume to that of the AVR.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Leds on the PI and HifiBerry turn off

2021-05-03 Thread Peet

Hi Greg

I followed your answer.
I found that the HifiBerry Amp2 uses the DAC+.
On https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux...t/dts/overlays the
"hifiberry-dacplus-overlay.dts" on
I found:

leds_off = <_dacplus>,"hifiberry-dacplus,leds_off?";

Then I learned to work with vi.
I looged in via ssh and used m1, c1, vicfg.
Then I scrolled down and opened the 'insert mode' with 'o'.
Now I wrote the 'leds_off' line.
With 'ESC' and ':wq!' I stopped vi. And then reboot piCore.
But the led on the Amp2 remains burning!
What do I wrong or forget or don't see?

Well, the only folder with "Plugins" is the one I should not mess
around: Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/
I have been running "find . -name Plugins -print" so I'm sure I did not

The info page of LMS mentions

- Folder for Extras
  /volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins,

Find the folder called "Plugins" instead. Extract the .zip file in
there, to get a Plugins/Spotty folder.

I found a folder SqueezeCenter/Slim/Plugin which contains lots of
Plugins but no Spotty.

It must be the folder "Plugins" with an "s" at the end, not "Plugin".
And sure, Spotty won't be in there, because you're only going to install it.

- Uninstall Spotty Plugin via LMS
- Create Spotty folder under Plugin/ and copy Spotty.zip content
   there

No. Find "Plugins" and extract the zip file in there. The result must be
something Plugins/Spotty/Plugins.pm etc..

I found a folder SqueezeCenter/Slim/Plugin which contains lots of
Plugins but no Spotty.

So your proposal is

- Uninstall Spotty Plugin via LMS
- Create Spotty folder under Plugin/ and copy Spotty.zip content
  there

Regarding Synology: They are not updating LMS anymore so it is on 7.9.
And they upgraded Perl recently which breaks LMS. So I would say they
don't care about LMS anymore.
But Pinkdot is offering LMS distros for all Synology CPU architectures
and I got my LMS from there.

With the upcoming LMS7 I heard there will be more problems but I haven't
tried that. Worst case I need to use LMS in Docker then, but let's see.

Not being able to access your local music its permissions issue and as
MrMette suggested you need PUID and PGID in your environmental
variables. You can either use existing user which has access to your
Music library or as suggested create new one just for this purpose.
You can check used id with ssh as mentioned but also you can access it
from DSM with task scheduler and email.

Also as MrMette pointed out you really want to map /config folder so you
can easily use it for backups and updates to new versions of LMS

Hi Stephan

Is there something similar for the tidal plugin? Is the sourcecode of
the plugin public?

Unfortunately no, this is not available publicly. And I hesitate to open
mysb up to do so many requests: TIDAL would only return 50 items per
call. For 2000 items I'd have to call them 40x.

That said, I believe that if you integrated TIDAL with your local

Feature release, main changes:

- Add categories when browsing into years. e.g. My Music / Years /
  2021 / Genres / Hard Rock / Albums
- Add basic 'swap' queue command. NOTE: This saves playlis of player
A, copies B to A, then loads saved playlist into A.
- Blur background images - requires browser supports backdrop-filter
  CSS.
- Add support for 'single' URL query. When this is set, and a player
name or id, is passed, then Material will only control this player and
  will ignore others.
- Make 'Settings' menu entry open a sub-menu with specific settings.
- Add 'Add to favourites' action to all dynamic playlists with a
playlistid and that have a 'Play now' action.
- Add back/title entry to sub-menus.
- Add album list, and list of similar artists (from Last.fm) to MAI
  'Artist' view.
- Add track list to MAI 'Album' view.
- List artist, albumartist, composer, conductor, band, year, genre,
and tech info in MAI 'Track' view.
- Add, server-side, option to hide volume controls for fixed volume
  players.
- Highlight current list, or grid, item that is showing menu or which
was clicked and has caused Material to fetch a new list of items.
- Fix UTF-8 strings in podcast searches, by having LMS side decode
  XML/JSON.
- Add setting to toggle alarm fade in.
- Make artist, and album, details click-able links in now-playing.
- Add sliders to server, etc, settings dialogs.
- Add support for LMS 8.2 balanced shuffle setting.

You can try what I posted here:
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111876-LmsUpdate-and-LmsRepack-Synology-8-0-*-packages=1019108=1#post1019108

It has to do with a difference in permissions from the account running
the docker instance and your files on the NAS. I couldn't find a way to
allow the default "nobody" user to access those files.

It worked for somebody else on here as well, so hopefully it helps for
you too.
It does need some light commandline work to find the userid of the
account though.
