Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup

2021-07-01 Thread Michael Herger

Yes, I had the "Spotty ARM Legacy helper" plugin installed before and
all was working fine (before the latest Spotty update).

Ah, ok. Then let's go back to this and try to figure out why that would
not work any more. There's no reason why the helper update would have
broken this, as the legacy helper plugin is overriding the default helper.

Please get rid of whatever other helper plugin you've installed and
install the "ARM Legacy Helper" again. Then enable logging for
plugin.spotty, do some stuff, and come back with a description of what
you tried, what failed, and send me the server.log.zip to

https://www.dropbox.com/request/T3RctyzGgNg0oFDubq6a

(but don't forget to order a Pi - LMS on Synology is the end)

When you say ssh into your box I am not quite sure where to do that.
Should I go directly into each of the Squeezeboxes individually? I have
5 SB Radios and 1 SB Touch. Or should I ssh directly into the
Diskstation where 'central' LMS is running. If I have to go into the
Diskstation in which directory should I type the commands or does that
not matter?

I have no idea how this could have worked before, seriously... or did
you use the "Spotty ARM Legacy helper" plugin before? (uninstall the Pi0
helper again before installing that one)

And/Or try the following: ssh into your box. Then:

Code:

wget
https://github.com/michaelherger/Spotty-Plugin/raw/5c478024ee3f31662982d52d7a7a23c4cc272deb/Bin/arm-linux/spotty-hf

  chmod a+x ./spotty-hf

  ./spotty-hf -x

Run each command individually. This should download the previous binary
from before the latest update directly from GitHub.

I am in the right directory, when I type ls I see spotty-custom. I type
exactly as you wrote with ./ but I get this response

-sh: ./spotty-custom: No such file or directory

I also tried it with the -x you wrote earlier. same response.

My replies to these do not seem to get through, maybe because of code I
included.

I try to make it shorter without code.

I deactivated all other Spotty helper plugins on the web interface of
LMS.

I accessed my Diskstation wit PuTTY, found the path, and spotty-custum
in the right directory but obviously do not know how to run it. I tried
several things with no effect.

Yes. I use hw:0,0 which is the PS Audio DirectStream DAC. All music

Something is getting in the way and they are playing as PCM.

However, this branch is very much a dev branch and I make no guarantees

I don't know how to adjust those as Squeezelite is installed as part of

there is something that can be done at the command prompt. As far as I

First of all: you have multiple Spotty helper plugins installed. This
won't work. Please get rid of SpottyAARCH64Bin, then try again.

Second: the page lists the folders in which it was looking for the
spotty helper application.

/volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/Bin/arm-linux

Hi, thanks for your reply.

My collection has hundreds of 24-bit LP rips I have made over the last
several years. not to mention bluray dvd hdtracks etc.
To recode these to 16/44 would be a daunting task!

All of the files have been analyzed using MusicIP 1.9 on windows10, as
my understanding was this would be the only way to obtain the necessary
fingerprints at the outset.

So anyway. For now I have fired up the same MusicIP 1.9 on a dedicated
windows 10 with a full library and have enabled Spicefly Dynamic path
conversion to cooperate with a linux-based LMS.

just got it working.. will see how it goes.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 'MediaServer' *certified* Alexa skill for LMS

2021-07-01 Thread philchillbill

If you ask to play or stream an album/compilation/single and you get the
album name correct but the artist wrong, the skill always pointed out
who the correct artist was and offered to play it anyway via a yes/no.
Provided there was only one artist match - if there were matches for >1
artists, you were just told the artist/album combo you asked for could
not be found and that was it. You had to scratch your head and rethink
who it was who has that album... ?

A small change just implemented means that if the number of artist
matches is >1 but <6, the names of those artists are mentioned in the
response so as to jog your memory. The upper limit is there to prevent
you hearing a list of 50 artists read out when you ask for an album
called 'Greatest Hits' or 'Live' because that defeats the purpose of a
hint.

It's not finished yet, but appears to work. If you want to try you need
to checkout the github repo and use the 'downloading' branch.

Peter Galbavy wrote:
> I did wonder about the APK and if it complicates it around permissions,

The way it will work with the APK is that the skin (web app) will send
the APK a list of track details (id, title, artist, album, etc). The APK
will then download the track, and attempt to create the relevant folder
structure within Android 'Music' folder. And also download cover-art,
which the plain browser method will not do. Well, that's the idea
anyway, I need to actually implement it...

Also, the currently implemented method will *not* work with the APK - as
it does not handle downloading files. Well, I assume it does not work,
but have not tested - but I'd imagine the APK will jsut pass the URL to
android which will try to open with a media player, and not actually
download...

Woinderful and so very quick! :-)

Happy to test. I did wonder about the APK and if it complicates it
around permissions, but then if it's "just" a web page I guess Android
does the right thing.

it isn't. I know Spotify use -14 instead of -18 as a target volume but I
don't hear any reduction in volume now. @bernt noticed the same thing.

Yeah, looks like a Custom Browse and/or Classic skin issue. Material
simply applies some CSS tweaks to the classic skin for these pages. If
you try "http :// SERVER:9000/Classic" you will see the same issue -
i.e. the 'Save settings' button dissapears! However, pressing 'Next'
does appear to save the settings.
