Thanks, that is helpful. My Radio on 7.7.3-r16676 seems to be playing
fine with my 8.2 LMS, but perhaps there are things I am not aware of
that would work better, or that I am missing, based on what you wrote

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Community Firmware for Squeezebox Radio/Touch/Controller and LMS 8

2022-01-10 Thread Paytheprice

Dear all,

I am running LMS 8.2 on a PiCorePlayer. I updated my four radios to
Firmware 8.0.1-r16867. I have a similar problem as descibed before. My
WiFi turns off during the night and turns on in the early morning again.
Two of my radios do not reconnect to the WiFi automatically. I have to
search my network, select it and reconnect. This works fine, but the two
other radios and the Touch do not have this issue. Is there a way to fix
this? If not, I will leave my WiFi running during the nighttime.

Everything else works fine. Thanks for developing the Community
Firmware.

I have a fix for you to test but it will involve manually replacing two
files in the DenonAvpControl LMS plugin directory and then restarting
LMS. Would you be willing and able to do that? I can give you detailed
instructions and upload the files as an attachment. I can't really test
it myself except to make sure it doesn't break anything with the older
AVR's, which I have already done.

Thanks for your reply. I poll every 10 minutes, so I don't think I've
run into a limit. Nothing about this has changed from what had been
working fine for years. What version of LMS are you running? It may be
coincidental, but this problem started when I updated to today's 8.3
beta. I tried reverting to previous version, but it did not solve the
problem.

Hmmm ... Back in the days of the WUnderground version of STD I acquired
their API for use with STD and ran into a maximum call limit. I changed
it to every 5 minutes and never ran into the warning again. Just
checking with current STD I'm also at a five minute refresh. (Does
anyone really need to check the weather or sports more than every five
minutes?)

For the record, both WUnderground and Weather.com (The Weather Company)
are owned by IBM.

Just happened to me too. Pasting the
URL(https://api.weather.com/v2/turbo/vt1observation?apiKey==e=en-US=json=xx.xx,-yy.yy)
into a browser directly returns the error below. (geo and API data
redacted; copy this URL directly off of your slimserver.pl logs)

Code:

You don't have permission to access
"http://api.weather.com/v2/turbo/vt1observation?; on this server.

I have no idea where the API key embedded in the URL comes from; it is
not asked for in the SuperDateTime setup. But it appears weather.com no
longer accepts it :-(

I use it to post on Facebook music groups and various other online
places. The icon or symbol is I suppose a nice to have. The text “Now
Playing” is the default that everyone posts some abbreviate to NP but
….

I know you don’t do Spotify etc but if you did and if you used Facebook
and posted a full Spotify URL there is an algorithm that looks up the
full details from Spotify / Qobuz which then results in a playable link
often with album art inside the post. The url is made up something akin
to https://open.Spotify.com/track/numericstring
The numeric string is the same as Spotify://numericstring used by LMS I
guess Michael breaks the original into the LMS version within Spotty.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Testers - Accuradio LMS plugin

2022-01-10 Thread bpa

The Accuradio applet from MySqueezebox doesn't seem to work anymore and
after looking at Accuradio site they now seem to play M4A stream so an
LMS plugin may be easiest way to deliver access.

Caveats:
- There will be a clash of names with MySqueezebox Accuradio applet, so
only install this plugin if there is no Accuradio menu item with a
yellow icon, this plugin has the purple Accuradio logo.
- There is an issue with streaming Accuradio M4A with LMS. It looks like
a M4A issue. A patched version of Slim/Formats/Movie.pm for 8.3.1
(after Sept) is attached. The patch will not work for other LMS
versions as m4A code changes in 8.3.*

The main reason for testing is to see if the M4A patch doesn't break any
other source of M4A streaming.
I have tested with for some M4A podcast but I can't find other streaming
M4A sources.
I thought Tidal used M4A but it seems to only stream Flac now.

Repository for plugin.

I can add the 'favourite URL' if this is in the current track details,
but I don't feel like manually crafting URLs.

I don't know, really. There have been so many confusing reports. I was
able to reproduce the reset to 49% (previously 50%), but none of the others.

lbmusly is a dynamic library, not an executable. This library is loaded
by the python script, it is not executed. However, libmusly also needs
the libavcodec, libavformat, etc. libraries. If these are not on your
system then the python script will not be able to load libmusly as its
dependencies are not found. The easiest way to install these other
libraries is just to install the ffmpeg package. This is al mentioned in
the linux/INSTALL.md file.

No, the genre filtering only happens at analysis time - its used to
discard tracks. It will not affect tracks already in the DB.

You should not manually remove rows from the DB, this will lead to
'gaps' in the row-IDs, and will break the similarity. If you have
removed things manually, then all the row-IDs need to be recalculated.
The easiest way would be to move a music fiel out of your music folder,
rescan with music-similarity, move the track back into the music folder,
and re-scan again. When music-similarity detects a track has been
removed, it copies all of the 'tracks' table to 'tracks_tmp' and then
back-again - this causes al row IDs to be recalculated, and the jukebox
recreated.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)

2022-01-10 Thread RoyalScam

Hi all. Was sent here from the LMS forum. Basically, I'm trying to get
LMS on my Mac to wirelessly connect with my Onkyo TX-8160 receiver via
the bridge. The performance isn't right, and I'm sure it needs tweaking
in the settings...but I'm just not getting the grasp of things in the
User Guide. I'm hoping someone has experience with Onkyo equipment.

These are my issues/questions:

1. I'd like the volume to be controlled by the Onkyo, not LMS. Ideally,
I'd like a fixed volume out of LMS, controllable at the Onkyo. If not
possible, I'd at least like the two to accurately reflect the same
volume. As it stands, the synch between the two is off. For example, LMS
Volume says "30", Onkyo says "18". They're constantly fighting with each
other. Which setting and where can accomplish this?

2. I hit play on a song in LMS, song appears to start playing, not
audible in the Onkyo. If I move the playhead to the middle of the song,
3-4 seconds later it becomes audible in the Onkyo. Then at the end of
the song, the next track doesn't play. It appears "stuck" at the end of
the current track. Any setting or solution to that?

3. What is the function of the Power Button in LMS where the tracks
play? I accidentally clicked on that button in the middle of a track and
my Onkyo's volume immediately pinned to 100. Guessing that should always
be "On"?

I've got screenshots of my settings as they currently are, if that will
help.

Answering part of OPs question. Airplay 1 is 16/44.1 so if you send
something that’s 24/96 from your iOS device to a Pi it’s 16/44.1 only.

In my experience the non appearance of apps occurs in two scenarios 1)
your LMS cannot communicate with MySB.com for some reason or 2) you have
no player associated with the instance of LMS you are looking at

Could you change “Copy details” accessed from Now Playing to something
like the following.

Adds an icon and slight text change plus appends Tech Info from Now
Playing screen

Now Playing. Girls in Airports, Outside Looking In from Dive
(Year if known). Qobuz, 1359kbps, 44.1kHz, FLC

It would be even better if you could formulate the appropriate track url
for stuff from online sources and add that as well on a separate line.
If you need to know how each online source url is structured I can
supply for Spotify & Qobuz and I’m sure others can supply for Tidal,
Deezer etc

Many thanks

PS I do appreciate I may be one of only a handful of users of the copy

That depends entirely on what the Online Music Services plugin exposes
in respect of Tidal and Qobuz. All this skill does is talk to LMS
through the jsonrpc.js interface. Anything exposed is fair game but
otherwise I have no access to it.

Sorry I cannot help much because I'm not a Spotify user myself. The name
on the home menu would not matter. I have toyed with playing Spotify
playlists though when developing things. They show up as e.g. "Spotify:
Bryan Adams" when I ask to List Playlists. If I just say "*Play *my
Bryan Adams *playlist*", the skill will check all playlists (local,
spotify, deezer, ...) for something called Bryan Adams and if more that
one item matched, local LMS would 'win'. If you use the "*Fetch *Bryan
Adams" syntax, it makes sure there's only a match in Spotify items and
ignores LMS local stuff. That might help at least with playlists.

I think in my case it's likely because all the genres I no longer wanted
were already in the database - so perhaps it needs to look for any and
remove them in some cases?

That being the case, I tried to do this manually by deleting them from
the database. This seemingly worked fine, and when re-running the
analysis they were not re-added.

I do however seem to have corrupted an index doing so:

Code:

  2022-01-10 17:21:06 D Using subset (1000 of 30500) for setmusicstyle (chosen

  File "M:\My Music\MusicSimilarity\music-similarity\lib\musly.py", line 268,
in add_tracks
  smtracks[i] = mtracks[style_tracks[i]]
  IndexError: invalid index

I suspect that's because I now have index entries for genres and/or
tracks that no longer exist... but I'm not sure where. I've dropped and
re-created indexes in the db, but no luck yet... Can you provide any
pointers please?

Ta.

Alexa is rather specific with syntax, so guessing what a command -might

the commands are there with all their allowed spoken variations.

Are the Spotty items you want to play already exposed to LMS? If you
don't see a Spotify item inside an LMS view of the world, the skill will
never find it. It's not a Spotify skill.

I'm now realizing I may have been saying "Play in Spotify" but
perhaps it has to be "Spotty"? I want MediaServer to search Spotify for
the album or song and play it.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Music Similarity DSTM mixer

2022-01-10 Thread mruddo

As discussed with @cpd73 It turns out the issue I had was down to my
database file not containing all required meta fields, which was
adversely impacting the matching and causing the majority of tracks to
be disregarded.

This was likely caused by my use of incorrect parameters when running
the analysis script.

My speculative explanation of the mixing behaviour was that the missing
data meant it was unable to identify the best matches, so instead I
ended up with a selection from the tail end of the database... but
having re-run the analysis to add the missing meta fields, it's back to
working well again.

Glad you got things straightened out, Giunti. You need to take a break
from telnet for a while though. The 'PSRSTR MED' command that
I had you try for testing purposes earlier turns the restorer function
back on, which you obviously don't want to do at this point. The only
command you want to use with telnet for now is 'PSRSTR OFF'. Once you
have turned the restorer function off for that AVR input, it should stay
off until you turn it back on with the AVR gui (or telnet ;-).

Once again, thanks for helping me debug this problem. There will be a
fix for it in the next release.

LMS-lite has no 'play xxx' commands at all so all it can do is transport
commands. MediaServer can access any music items -already -visible in
LMS. If you can see it in iPeng/Material/Default, you can just play it
the same as with any local music file. What commands are you trying?

I do note that the Qobuz App updated itself yesterday, so something
changed on their end.
Also, some tracks did stream just fine directly through the Qobuz app =

I picked a Robin Guthrie/Harold Budd album and when it finished. the app
played some "similar" tracks to keep the music playing.
So I'm not really sure what's up but maybe Qobuz dinked the interface,
and the API doesn't quite fit right with the PCP or LMS application?

Any idea why I can't get Mediaserver or LMS-lite to play from Spotty? I
thought that it would go to Spotify if the item wasn't in my personal
library. I've also tried specifying Spotify, but that doesn't work

Unfortunately, due to a technical reason, its not possible to add
compatibility into Global Player Plugin. But the good news is that the
same streams are available in the UK Radio Player plugin and that plugin
is compatible, so just add them as a Radio Favourite from that plugin
to them into your Radio Favourites list.

and thus requires to be set to OFF manually via AVR GUI. When all's set
right I get these responses via Telnet:

The Edifier speakers are in locations where they are used for background

Streams from the BBCSounds plugin use DASH format and so I think only
the server needs to be in VPN as DASH streams are not played directly by
players.

If you are playing the general http/MP3 or the R3only http/AAC stream
which can be played directly by the player then the player has to be in
the VPN

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Music Similarity DSTM mixer

2022-01-10 Thread mruddo

I don't think it's that. I've generally been testing the results, and
did again just now..

Code:

  M:\My Music\MusicSimilarity>.\music-similarity\music-similarity.py
--log-level INFO --test
  2022-01-10 09:08:11 I Testing musly
  2022-01-10 09:08:15 I Loaded 30962 tracks
  2022-01-10 09:08:15 I Musly returned 50 different similarities for 50 tracks
Test ended at 9:08:15.88 on 10/01/2022

I've also just deleted and re-built the Jukebox (by running the test
without one), and I still see the same behaviour.

I'm wondering if it's got something to do with the size of the database
now? I did not notice such issues with the smaller sample library, but
it's almost as if it's now only selecting from a sub-set of any results.

As stated on the 'music-similarity github page'
(https://github.com/CDrummond/music-similarity), Musly has a 'bug'
(https://github.com/dominikschnitzer/musly/issues/43) where all songs
can get the same score. Hence why I added a *--test* commandline switch
to music-similairty to test the Musly analysis. If this fails it usually
just means recreating the jukebox. Passing *--repeat* will cause the
test code to delete the jukebox on failure, recreate, and re-test until
OK. This -might- not be your issue, but is worth checking. The order
that the tracks are processed depends on the similarity order from Musly
- my code simply iterates the list of tracks returned by Musly and
applies some filtering.

I have a set-up at home that allows me to route certain clients through
a SmartDNS solution, which helps with geoblocking. I have never tried
this with the LMS or SB clients. Is it the LMS that needs to be routed
this way, or the different SB clients, or both?

If I try this, are there some residual settings in LMS that might still
interfere, for example by routing certain traffic to a non-UK SB server
when requesting a URL?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Music Similarity DSTM mixer

2022-01-10 Thread mruddo

Thanks for the info... I'll experiment a little more with exclusions
when I can.

Just an update on mixes though - as a trend I've noticed seems to
indicate a bias towards artists at the tail end of the alphabet. My
music is stored in folders by Artist then Album. So my analysis database
is primarily organized A-Z with with "Various" covering compilations
towards the end. (Not sure if the same applies to the Jukebox.)

What I've noticed is that I'm getting a lot of tracks from the the last
few letters. e.g. if I start a mix from...

Code:

Lana Del Rey - W, Z, V, W, W
  Tom Petty - W, V, Y, R, W, b
  ABBA - V, V, Y, V, V
  Chvrches - g, T, Z, W, Y
  DMA's - V, W, Y
  Jenny Lewis - W, V, S, V, W
  Ludwig van Beethoven - J, g, V, V, V
  Manic Street Preachers - W, Y
  Rolling Stones - Y, V, Y, b, W
  Weezer - W, V, Y, Y

Obviously these are just one set of sample mixes - that I just generated
while typing this post, but the trend is apparent in most - as I
especially noticed a number of albums at with Various artists or Z
artists coming up again and again. (I don't have many artists starting
with "Z", so it becomes quite obvious.)

As it's timbre based, the starting letter of the chosen artist should be
relevant, but I picked a few random ones that demonstrate a reasonable
variety of styles.

In almost all cases above, "V" is "Various". Interestingly the 'g' and
'b' are unusal in that they're both lower case - so that could be a clue
as to any sort being applied to result sets here. Most of my artists are
capitalised, but there are a few exceptions.
