Better to go into the plugin section in Material, then all updated plugins will be shown at the top and you can choose which one to update (if there are more than one). Or use the Settings window in the default skin. Rollback, what does it mean? I removed the 2.1.8 and reinstalled the bridge and have 2.12.1. Is that the same as 1.x.x smth? Or how do I proceed to get the "working" version before last weekend? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AirPlay, Chromecast and UPnP bridges update
A minor peculiarity: For the first time I could use the non-static alternative (with 2.1.8) and it actually removed the small gaps between tracks on DSOTM and other small gaps on Tidal and Radio Paradise. That was last night. Today the streamer had lost contact to LAN. Did restarts etc., but only when I changed to -static did it connect to the LAN. I then restarted the plugin with non-static and it connects to the LAN and plays tracks again. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AirPlay, Chromecast and UPnP bridges update
2.1.6.1 works fine with the DSOTM track 1 and 2. No gap. Thank you for the hard work! Don't dare to upgrade to 2.1.7 if I can't revert to 2.1.6.1, though. (And to my defense for being grumpy: I actually posted about the problem already on Friday/Saturday, together with log snippets etc. A short message like "don't use the automatic update as I will send out several updates to solve another problem" would have been enough to revert back to the version that worked on my setup. On Sunday I had a monumental hangover and couldn't do more than lie on the sofa and listen to music. ;) *So, sorry for being grumpy*, but this was the first time in 15 years updates of a plugin caused any hickups. Wiser from earlier experiences, I turned off LMS updates a long time ago.) As to the hard voluntary work made by the developers I suggested many years ago to make some kind of "fund" on paypal? for the most active developers where we can send donations to show our appreciation. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Gathering requirements for new DSP plugin - please be realistic!
I have not much knowledge about digital audio techniques, I'll have to do a "for dummies>" readup on the most important concepts for my room correction attempts. I have correction files from REW (I think) separated for left and right, but don't know how to apply them. I read a simple explanation in a forum this year, but forgot where. That was the beginning of my interest in implementing it with LMS. Another function would be to make the correction player-based, instead of server-based. It's logical since the LMS is a multi-room system. If it isn't already, that is... Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Beta Announce] Revised Inguz DSP plugin
Sry for serial posting. :) Concerning keeping the last preset, if I understand right it is server-based, not player-based. If so, is it possible to make it player-based instead? I have a preset with 9 dB lift at 60 Hz (room thing), but that would be quite overwhelming for a Boom or SB Radio. I'll add that to the "wish list" in the other thread. About presets...will the server restart with the latest used preset before shutdown? It seems it does but the active preset is not shown in the field Load a preset It would be "reassuring" to see the active preset in the window after a restart. :) I have adjusted some dips and peak in the freq response I measured over a month ago with the 31-band eq and it's a great improvement. I use Replay Gain and all files were recently analysed and tagged with Foobar (did it better than MP3Tag). I use fixed volume on the streamer/DAC (non-SB). I'll check the peak tag for the files that had distortion. Easier to hear in transistor radio mode, otherwise it is masked. I don't have MQA on Tidal, just the ordinary 16/44 plan. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Beta Announce] Revised Inguz DSP plugin
Got it working on the big system now, but there were three "issues": 1. I used the "transistor radio" setting and I could hear clipping of the signal, which is worrying 2. When random play plays a Tidal track (flac), the EQ settings are inactivated. (Didn't test if they were activated again if the following track is a flac from the NAS, see below.) 3. If I FFW with the progress indicator (the long bar) the settings are inactivated. If I press >| to the next track, they are activated again. I assume it is possible to change the EQ bands in a conf or XML file, right? I have dips at 70 Hz and 220 Hz and a peak at 12,5 kHz and I thought I'd make a quick and dirty room correction by making a 3-band EQ with those frequencies. The ideal would of course be to make a full correction. I'll check out the software you mentioned. I'll make a playlist with different formats tonight and test what happens, but great we got this far. Thanks! The stream was Radio FIP Rock, 252kbit/s CBR AAC (HLS), played on a SB Boom. I could adjust he sound with the 5-band equaliser. Changes took effect after stopping and restarting the stream. Later I tried to play FLACs from the NAS through the UPnP plugin in LMS and I have set the stream to PCM, not flac. So obviously LMS does the decoding. The log file is still on the NAS. The LMS is running in a QNAP app called QLogitechMediaServer. Earlier it ran in a container. The QNAP LMS app is documented in this forum. When I started playing music this morning it didn't play, just jumped from song to song, but no sound. Like it behaved during the early installation attempts. Yesterday I could play music while the executable and config file where in the same folder as the sox and others. I removed them, restarted the server and I can play again. I also discovered that the usr/share/InguzEQ folder has disappeared. Probably because I close the NAS over night and start it again in the morning. It didn't disappear yesterday with the stopping and starting of the LMS server. Would this be OK: Transcode - flac Flow 24 bits PCM - packed type 1 Show advanced options Flac compression - 0 Resample at - source Sample size - source I assume resample at source would mean to not resample? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Got my new baby up and running, but during random playback it doesn't seem to follow the replay_gain tag in the (mostly) FLAC files. It's quite disturbing when the -10 dB tracks come up. I have activated to send metadata to the streamer in the UPnP plugin (without cover art). What might be issue? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Beta Announce] Revised Inguz DSP plugin
I figured out that the directories weren't correct and found the corresponding directories in my NAS and pasted the config and dll file into all three suspects, arm, i386 and x386. The file types showed InguzDSp, but didn't play. Removed the dll and the config from all folders and added them to one at a time. Can play but InguzDSP not shown in File Types. Added dll and config to i386 and x86 but it didn't work. I give up. It also shows Tidal 31/63 albums beside the volume control in the LMS interface. OK, so I ran sh picore-etc.sh in its directory and a dnload started. The directory structure is not the same so I need to find which files to copy to my structure... The file types are not configured as the pic above, but greyed out. The balance test doen't change anyting. Allegedly they mention that more protocols will be added in the future (just added MQA FWIW) and hoping they might even add LMS. There's no screen on it that shows the album covers etc. OTOH I have two weeks to try it out and send it back if it doesn't work. The other thing that worries me is to open the UPnP on the NAS and router, but I have them behind another modem/router. The home netowrk router connects to the net through the first modem/router, so maybe it is safer. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Thinking abut buying a streamer/DAC and connect it to LMS (used a Touch for ages). There are so may pages to read in this thread so I ask you users: Does this app work well? Is it exactly like having a Touch connected to LMS using the web interface, especially the ability to mix freely randomly from local FLACs and favourites on Tidal? You're lucky. My Boom always goes to 99 after the server restarts. Nobody seem to know what it might be or where in the config files the setting changes. Only solution seems to be a clean reinstall of the server.
