Hi all, looks like Wunderground indeed has stopped the old API. I just called the API used manually and I'm also getting "old" forecast data (like you see on your screens). I'm afraid the work involved to upgrade to the new API is nothing that I currently have time for :( I suggest using the workaround described some post above (i.e. using erlands plugins). To be honest, I don't know why it doesn't appear for you. I did various tests: - my own Duet + Radio: Applet appears under the Applet installer - checked my server: can download metadata - checked the metadata: the Applet is marked as available for every 7.* device I don't know anymore, how the Applet Downloader actually retrieves the metadata (directly from the internet or indirectly via Squeezebox-Server). Is you Radio connected to a Squeezbox-Server? Is the server having internet access for downloading metadata? Sorry that I'm not of any good help here. GTV is a mess, only a very crippled version of Android. I don't think they ever upgraded the Android version. I do know that some people have been successful to run SqueezePlayer on Android sticks so I guess this should be working for SB Player as well. As far as I know those sticks run a full blown Android version without limitations but of course might heavily depend on the actual stick. I'm trying to stream Spotify via SqueezePlayer and face some strange problems. Maybe you can help me finding out the cause? When I start a stream via Spotify it plays too fast in the beginning. For me it sounds like a lot of frames are dropped. This settles down after some waiting time when the song starts to play correctly without dropping frames. The spotifyd log has a lot of the following messages [00:16:10.156459] music_delivery:416 called with num_frames: 2048 [00:16:10.157241] _streambuf_write:263 player: 0 wrote 2106 new bytes of 2106 min 2106 [00:16:10.157883] _streambuf_write:263 player: 0 wrote 2206 new bytes of 2206 min 2206 [00:16:10.157973] music_delivery:566 streamed frames: 643072 can't write: 16 rate: 88773 / 44100 I searched that on the forum and found several threads where you are asking if FLAC tracks are streaming fine (yes they are) or if the Spotify Self Test works (for some reason it says 'Streaming from Spotify Failed' - though through starting on Squeezeboxes/SqueezePlayer gives me a stream). I finally found a thread where you ask to disable Spotify->FLAC streaming (i.e. forcing PCM streaming ... http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90895). This resolves the problem for me (yeah!!), so I think we can conclude: - Spotify download is fast enough - my network is fast enough - FLAC conversion on the server has trouble (probably my server is too slow - it's a SheevaPlug) I wouldn't expect dropped frames though, but rather many rebufferings in SqueezePlayer. Right now its not planned to switch to the new API. You might have noticed, that there is a pricing page http://www.wunderground.com/weather/api/d/pricing.html As I don't know how many people are using the Applet (well I do have download stats and they look like many people are using it) I'm afraid I wouldn't fall under the free Wunderground API. The App request every 15mins. But wunderground sometimes blocks traffic (or gives old cached data via the API), preventing the App to show more recent Weather. I'm afraid there is nothing I can do about (without paying money for the API which I don't plan to do for obvious reasons ;) ). Unfortunately Germany is still one of those countries, where Spotify is not available, which makes it really hard to test Spotify integration from here. Also triodes does not own an Android phone or tablet so cannot help me testing. Just to underline what Mnyb said two typical recent comments from the AppStore (of users that have used both Apps). If you read through the comments of all countries, you will find even more of it. In the end it boils down to taste and this is to be expected from Apps, that worldwide get 5star rating of more than 80% of all users. I enjoy SqueezeCommander more than the Logitech App. I have one of those devices, where scrolling didn't work at all in the Logitech App and with the current beta version it improved but still feels slow compared to SqueezeCommander. Sometimes it's the simple things that give the most joy: for instance when it comes to browsing speed you cannot beat SqueezeCommander. On the one hand this is because of SqueezeCommander caching lists, but it also has a index bar where you can scroll down ultra fast. Then SqueezeCommander also has a little popup when changing the volume, showing you the current value. Again - very small feature, but proved to be priceless for me as I just know the three most important volume values so don't have to fiddle that much until I have setup my Squeezebox volume in the morning or evening. This little index bar and volume popup alone are worth the 3,50€ (including VAT) for me, I actually don't even use more features than browsing, selecting the player and changing volume. I see an error in SqueezePad with the latest Playlist Manager plugin
version. This is only when SqueezePad is in the 'Playlist Modification
Mode' = 'Always Ask' mode, where it tries to detect playable menu
items, and then presents a small popup.
As SqueezePlay has no identification for playable menu items (sometimes
also the 'do' or 'go' command contain the actual play command),
SqueezePad uses a heuristic: whenever behind a 'do' or 'go' command
there is exactly the command as behind the actual 'play' command, it
considers this menu item to be playable 'leaf' menu item.
Now when one uses the playlist manager 'Add To ...' menu, then there is
a menu with some predefined playlists, but also an 'Other ...' menu
item where one actually can select all other playlists.
The cometd definition of this menuitem from the logs is as follows:

I think it is wrong to have a mapping for the 'play' and 'add' button
here, as a submenu follows and the play command typically does not

command is mapped to the same command as 'play' and so SqueezePad (when
in this special mode) thinks this menu item will start playing some
tunes.
Any chance, that this menu item can be mapped just with a 'go' command,
like it is common for all non-playable menu-items?

Es reicht ein Leerzeichen einzutragen. Please look into the settings of the Applet (Settings -> Screen -> Screensaver-> Weather Settings) if a Personal Weather station has been configured. If it happens in both Apps, then chances are high this is the default behaviour of your Squeezebox Server now. You should reproduce it with the free Logitech App and then open a support ticket with Logitech to get it resolved. This bug crashes both iPeng and SqueezePad and makes the Logitech App behave disfunctional. The applet installer downloads the exact file you manually downloaded. So something must have broken when unzipping. Ok, here we go for Applets. On a daily basis on my Controller I use ALBUM FLOW (ERLAND)[/B] *WEATHER FORECAST (ME)* AND *SCREEN SWITCHER (ERLAND) to make a nice toggling Screensaver (normal Logitech Clock, Weather, Album Flow) to impress all my guests, when they look at the Controller in the Cradle. I also successfully used [b]Patch Installer (erland)* once on my Radio to install a patch manipulating the brightness settings. I can also confirm that *Custom Clock (erland)* works nicely and hand in hand with the Weather Forecast and many other Applets. Cannot comment on Bens Applet as I don't know how to test it, but can verify that he is a reputable developer, that knows the Squeezeplay LUA code very well. pippin - this could be the same issue as with WiMP menus? While I still have WiMP on my home-menu (and other users failed to get it there) - I cannot get Pandora in the Home menu either (doesn't matter if I try with iPengHD or SqueezePad). If you mean the Weather Applet, looks like I still have a bug in there. Go to the Settings (in the Screensavers menu) and configure a 'PWS/personal weather station'. It's enough if you just enter a space. My replay gain and internal volume is at 100% as well and in the next version the iPad's hardware volume is always set two ticks higher than the display value which automatically makes all sounds sound more natural. I need to think though whether it will still outperform your bitshifter algorithm.
