I run a Plex server for video (files stored on same NAS as my music) and
access it on my TV using Plex app on Amazon Fire TV. I can of course
also watch on my phone, tablet or PC

Im using the apk on a Fire Tablet. Its not up to date but I dont
think that is the issue.
If I finish an evenings listening but forget to close the app before I

Quite probably. Some difference in logic in the scan code but I cant

On that Pi you need to set the max sample rate to be 96000. Its sending

As you want to use MusicBee on PC it is definitely worth mapping the
Network drive as say M:\music
Then you can point MusicBee to always use M:\music as its music location

Is Samba actually looking at the USB disk or is it mis configured and
actually using the remainder of your SD card? That would explain the
1.66gb capacity.

In Windows Explorer turn off icons at bottom right for the mapped
drive and show details only. As the drive is 900gb full of music Windows
will struggle to generate icons as it will to do so for each and every
file that contains artwork.

You only need Samba to see your music files from Windows PC
Instead you can use WinSCP to see your music files from Windows PC
You dont need either to just play music.
Are you actually saying that when you look via LMS with Material or
Default you cant see all files? So cant play all music.

I did say earlier that I used to use this config with iPeng on my
iPhone.
What I use now is a Pi Zero Velcrod to a Powerbank with the Audioquest
Dragonfly but controlled by Material on my iPhone.
Why did I move away from iPeng on the iPhone?

It appears that the MAI lookup to a stored library of lyrics is case
sensitive track to file name e.g an of in the file name instead of
Of causes a failure to find.
I know you usually translate everything to lowercase to avoid this sort
of thing.
