You will always have lag on any Bluetooth connection. That's why your phone / speaker are out of sync with other devices. Try a 3.5mm cable between phone & speaker i.e. no bluetooth - this may improve things but still won't be perfect as the phone doesn't provide the hardware environment that is necessary for proper sync. Not only are there a multitude of different upnp devices and implementations but there are also quite a wide range of LMS use cases. One thing that most (but apparently not all) require is gapless playback. Does Pink Floyds, Dark Side of the Moon play as it should? That should be on the list for sure. As you say Spotify I assume you dont have Qobuz otherwise Id definitely add that to your test list and particularly whether a upnp device can deal with 24/96 or higher. I have often found that to get gapless I need to operate in Flow mode (transcoding to PCM) which by definition means max is 16/44.1. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] A few words about bridges and my work in general
I concur with all of the above. I think it is fair to say that the uPnP/DLNA Bridge is unique and many people simply don't realise what a buggers muddle the underlying protocol is and the multitude of different devices and implementations that Philippe has to code for. Personally I try to stay clear as much as possible even though I have a number of devices that could be made to work with LMS via the bridge. It strikes me that even though Philippe has coded for "known working hardware" profiles there are relatively few devices in the list and that is down to us users for not sending them in! Philippe cannot be expected to own every conceivable piece of uPnP hardware! We as a user group should take note of what has happened recently and make sure we assist by either volunteering dev status or by providing proper details of our working systems with a note stating which version of the bridge they work against. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Now that Craig has given the url info needed for your guests to access a specific player at a party here is what you need to (safely) generate some QR codes. 1. Guests need to access your WiFi. Use https://qifi.org/ to generate a QR code. Unlike other web resources that do this QiFi is entirely JS in your browser I.e. you dont send your SSiID and WiFi password to some random web server. 2. Open the URL as detailed by Craig in Chrome. Then click the share icon (or the three dots on desktop) where there is an option to generate a QR code. Not a complaint but a question. Im using the apk on a Fire Tablet. Its not up to date but I dont think that is the issue. If I finish an evenings listening but forget to close the app before I go to bed the tablet is out of power in the morning. This has happened a fair few times now. It is more than likely the accented e in that your accent is a different character to that used by All Music. When this happens you can either attempty to fix by changing the album name OR what I tend to do is to create my own review.html which I drop into the album folder. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Stream Windows PC Audio to Raspberry Pi LMS
There are numerous ways to do this but Ive not found one that doesnt introduce some lag into the equation. If we are talking Windows then Stream What You Hear is arguably the easiest to setup however I have opted for a generic solution that can stream everything that hits my HiFi ie Turntable, CD or input from something else which could be a PC. Raspberry Pi with a Behringer UCA202 as its input from the HiFi tape out. The Pi runs Liquidsoap and an instance of Icecast which generates a stream the LMS can play. It seems to be formatted as exFat. pCP mounts it and sees it as a 1TB disc correctly. He has enabled Samba but says Windows needs the obsolete SMB1 re enabled to see it and then only measures it as 1.66gb. We know that Samba on pCP works with W10 with no issue without enabling SMB1 We dont know if the USB is faulty and the OP hasnt tried a lot of the suggestions made eg reformatting as ntfs. Heres a thought. Is Samba actually looking at the USB disk or is it mis configured and actually using the remainder of your SD card? That would explain the 1.66gb capacity. Also. In Windows Explorer turn off icons at bottom right for the mapped drive and show details only. As the drive is 900gb full of music Windows will struggle to generate icons as it will to do so for each and every file that contains artwork. As others have said use Squeezelite-x to play music on PC. It does not need Samba to do so. You only need Samba to see your music files from Windows PC Instead you can use WinSCP to see your music files from Windows PC You dont need either to just play music. Are you actually saying that when you look via LMS with Material or Default you cant see all files? So cant play all music. How did you copy files to USB disc in the first place? How many music files are there? Did you allow LMS to fully scan the files? Do you know how to grab scanner.log? Chiming in again. iPeng with a dongle DAC will go to 24/96 but Im not sure whether the onboard DAC goes beyond 24/48. The Dragonfly has an LED that changes colour based on the stream bit depth. If I listen via it - it will mostly be green (16/44.1 local FLAC) but will change to purple (24/96 Qobuz FLAC). I also have experience of some other dongle DACs eg HiFiMe DIY Sabre which are much cheaper. These dont have as much volume which is an issue with an iOS device but they can be boosted when used with a Pi using Alsamixer. No LED though. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
Just to add some user experience If you define an artwork & lyrics folder then MAI will attempt to download and store as follows Artist Art - will create an image file titled artist name as LMS wants.png/jpg however if no image is found it will create a zero length file with the suffix .missing. This enables a user to find an appropriate image and name it correctly. Lyrics - will download and store a .txt file of lyrics when you have MAI open on the lyrics tab. You can correct errors manually or delete the file and MAI will re lookup at next play with lyrics open. Self generated bios and reviews. Assuming you have an Artist/Album folder structure Create and drop bio.html into the Artist folder and MAI will use this instead of looking the bio up on AllMusic Similarly create an album review as review.html and drop into Album folder. Any standard hyperlinks you create inside the html files will be obeyed by Material which will generate its Follow link and Search functions. Dont attempt to style the html in any way beyond basic H1, bold etc If you are using Linux you can expand the accuracy of lots of MAI capability by using symlinks For example MAI will pretty much always find lyrics for a Beatles track but if you are playing a cover version it most likely wont. You can symlink the lyrics in the Beatles folder to ANOthers version. Answering the Roon question. AFAIK the RAAT protocol is proprietory - you would need to be given access to the code by Roon and that would come at a cost. With respect this discussion should move to the MAI thread. Material just displays what MAI gives it but bear this in mind - the number of name variations in classical music is enormous. Even if MAI could cope with Composer in the way that you ask you would have to ensure that your tags matched the name as used by AllMusic eg is it Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, WA Mozart or W.A. I would imagine that the internal DAC in an M1 Macbook is OK but I would also imagine that you will see (hear) an improvement with a decent USB DAC such as the Dragonfly. It should work with a Macbook with a suitable adaptor but again I'd say take the Macbook, adaptor and headphones to Richer Sounds to make sure. This is of course correct but the SQ is poor by the stream.mp3 route and UPnP is a dogs dinner (and not a very nice one at that). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng Playback + iPad + headphones
I did say earlier that I used to use this config with iPeng on my iPhone. What I use now is a Pi Zero Velcrod to a Powerbank with the Audioquest Dragonfly but controlled by Material on my iPhone. Why did I move away from iPeng on the iPhone? 1. Crossfade. IPeng doesnt support it. 2. iPeng/iOS is limited to 24/96. If I ever upgrade the Dragonfly to one of the colours that supports higher than 24/96 I would never see the benefit. 3. I was using iPeng solely as the player but using Material on the same iOS device to control it. 4. Interference (sounds) and phone calls interrupting my listening. Depends what you mean by good enough. Should work ok but youll get better audio by using a Lightning to USB cable (Apple Camera Converter) and an Audioquest Dragonfly. I used to use this config with my B P7s. iPeng via the Dragonfly supports up to 24/96. I have also used other portable USB DACs but some arent loud enough/wouldnt drive the headphones. @michael A wee buggette It appears that the MAI lookup to a stored library of lyrics is case sensitive track to file name e.g an of in the file name instead of Of causes a failure to find. I know you usually translate everything to lowercase to avoid this sort of thing. Easily corrected manually though. The upside of this mode is of course I can amend by hand but further that a can do some clever symlinking which I was doing at the time I discovered the incorrect lyrics. The track in question is by Roxy Music as you discovered when searching but a lot of their stuff has subsequently been re-recorded or performed live by Bryan Ferry in his solo capacity but if you are playing a Ferry version ChartLyrics doesn't find the track so rather than symlinking file to file I have done it on a folder to folder basis /lyrics/Bryan Ferry is symlinked to /lyrics/Roxy Music This uses the same store point for lyrics whether its Roxy Music or Bryan Ferry that you are listening to and allows a one place correction for both. Obviously my use is a bit esoteric but I thought I'd post this just in case someone else finds it useful. I have 3 x LMS, 2 use the same NAS as their storage mounted identically via NFS. The 3rd is at a remote site where there is a fully synced backup NAS. The LMS there is also mounted with the same path so a change at one location update all three instances of LMS accordingly. I have yet to work out how to extend this to Advanced Genre Replacement as this is (I think) a database thing rather than some simple cached file containing the replacement table?? +---+ |Filename: 2022-02-02 13_58_47-Server Settings.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37102| +---+ Jim https://jukeradio.double6.net VB2.4 STORAGE *QNAP TS419P (NFS) Living Room* Joggler & Pi4/Khadas -> Onkyo TXNR686 -> Celestion F20s *Office* Joggler & Pi3 -> Denon RCD N8 -> Celestion F10s *Dining Room* SB Radio *Bedroom (Bedside)* Pi Zero+DAC ->ToppingTP21 ->AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV) & Bathroom* SB Touch ->Denon AVR ->Mordaunt Short M10s + Kef ceiling speakers *Guest Room* Joggler > Topping Amp -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99537 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If I understand the MAI process correctly it obtains the lyrics as raw data and writes to a file as text. If this is correct I think it would be simpler / cleaner to append a line to the end of the text file if Micahel is up for it. You could also append the "correction" link if it was felt sensible although some users wouldn't realise that you would need to delete the cache version to see the amend. Code: Lyrics sourced from https://Chartlyrics.com/fullurl;>ChartLyrics.com on dd/mm/yy. I modified the earlier example in my stored file and can confirm that the url gets displayed correctly in both Material and Default and responds like any other url. As I'm quite happy to correct at source although in LMS terms I'd need to clear the cache for track in question and allow MAI to re-create (not a big issue though).
