It happened more than once. Look for example when I click on “Europe -
Wings of tomorrow” at the very beginning; the previous song by Lacrimas
Produndere is played back again, while the Spotify interface shows
Europe already.
Then i load Metallica and click on play on nothing else matters, and
then and only then, Europe starts to play.
Then I play Whenever I may Roam by Metallica, and Europe still comes out
though the speakers.

It happens multiple times

I shot quite a long video. Throughout the video you will see several
cases where Spotify is not in sync with what is being played through the
speakers. I hope this video depicts well what I'm experiencing. Thanks!

Let me know if this clarifies a bit what I see.

Just started a new playback of a new album on Spotify on my Mac. While I
see the new album and Spotify "thinks" it is playing the first song of
the new album, I still listen the previous band. If I now go to
"Spotify" on LMS, LMS is displaying the truth, but Spotify on my Mac
isn't.

I feel terrible for drowning your energy :(

There is always a previous track when I enable the Spotify Connect on
the client side. I don't really know how to make sure that when I click
on Spotify Connect, Spotify queue is empty. I can record a video if you
want me to.

Still out of sync. It actually feels a bit as if LMS/Squeezeplayer would
miss some of the beats, when I tell the app to skip tracks. Does this
missing a beat make any sense to you? thanks!

Hi! apologies for posting multiple times. It's been a journey. Thanks
for your continuous support.

Yes, I've tried it with 10 random albums and a number of songs. Same
result. Spotify clients are out of sync (1 song "in the future")

Yes. It is all pretty weird. I definitely managed to see my Spotify
account available through LMS. Don't know I managed that because I kept
seeing the "Authorisation fail" message all the time, but I clearly
manage to get it working eventually.
There is still something strange. My Spotify client on my phone and on
my Mac is not visually in sync with what is being played. If I play song
A on the Spotify client, LMS will be playing song A-1. If I then go to
LMS, I see song A-1 is being played, and the progress bar is in sync
with what part of the song is being played. I looked around and saw this
option available in the plugging settings section

Code:

Optimize Pre-Buffering - only enable if your Spotify application seems to
be tracks ahead of Spotty playback in Connect mode.

this however does not fix the issue.

Any tip? thanks!!

Now, this is pretty weird. It looks like something has happened in the
background because I do see now the Spotify Connect option on my Spotify
client. This is strange as I have not changed anything. The only thing
I've done differently is accidentally used Spotify on a Windows PC that
allowed me to initiate an Authorisation process, that I believe ended up
failing. Also, if I now go to LMS I'm able to use Spotify directly
there. There is for sure something I'm not being able to grasp...

There is now a weird behaviour whereby Spotify on my iPhone running
Spotify Connect, is not in full sync with the song that is being played.
Not sure if I will be able to properly describe what I've seen today.
Say my Spotify client on my iPhone says song X is being played using
Spotify Connect. Well, the song being played is actually X+1 but the
iPhone client displays one song right before. If I now go to LMS, what
is shown there is in sync with what is being played back; LMS is in
sync, whereas Spotify Connect is not. If I skip one song, then the
iPhone client is not catching up with what is being played back; it
always seems to be one song behind... weird stuff, I know.. does this
resonate if only a little?

thanks!

Although I majored in Computer Science and Networking, that was like 20
years ago. I haven't done much of technical work in the last 15 years. I
wouldn't expect for me to need to setup any sort of forwarding rules
because, as you very well say, home networks have a deny all incoming
network traffic unless previously initiated from within the network. I
tried forwarding port TCP4070 just in case for some reason Spotify would
challenge back my connection attempt using a different protocol/port
from within the network. Pretty much like FTP. But if that would have
proven been the case, I would have been reluctant to leave it like
that.

I should have mentioned that I managed to see my raspberry pi acting as
a Spotify endpoint, when I tested volumio. So both my laptop, smartphone
and local network should be able to allow me to see local endpoints and
make use of Spotify Connect.

Could you let me know how I should restart LMS with that option enabled?
do I need to run any CLI command or is that something one does from the
web interface on LMS?

For sure there is something missing on my side. I thank you in advance
for your time and support. Thank you!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify: authentication with Spotty failure

2022-11-01 Thread kitus

Hello @mherger,

I set up LMS a few weeks back and I have not managed to either get
Spotify Connect up and running, despite having the option "Enable
Spotify Connect endpoint for this player" enabled. Additionally, when I
try to log into Spotify from LMS directly, I see the error message that
others have shared here "Authorisation failed". I'm running LMS on
PiCorePlayer, which means that I'm not running any sort of Docker
environment, with complex networking. I tried forwarding port TCP 4070
to no avail either.

This is the information that I see on the server log file:

Code:

root@pCP:/var/log/slimserver# cat server.log
  [22-11-01 18:30:34.0625] main::init (390) Starting Logitech Media Server
