I noticed though that it took very long for the connect option to appear after I switched on the first player. Without a player running there is nothing to connect to in spotify. Maybe that was my problem all along? This morning again I can't connect to the players in the spotify app. Is your computer going to sleep at night? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
/share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/SlimServer/Bin/i386-linux/flac: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found (required by /share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/SlimServer/Bin/i386-linux/flac) Is FLAC broken in the latest nightly? It seems to require a more recent glibc than what your system has. This has nothing to do with Spotty. Please post to another (new) thread specific to this problem. Maybe there's an OS update for your NAS? As for Spotty: you might be able to re-surrect it by disable transcoding to flac. Go to Settings/Advanced/File Formats and disable "spt -> flac" transcoding (leaving "spt -> pcm" enabled). -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
I use the Spotify Windows app to choose "Connect to a device, Listening On pCP, SB1 & SB2" All three players are synced. Ok, that would explain part of what you've been seeing. What I don't understand though, is why Spotty thinks it needs to shut down a helper, when it doesn't start it. Could you please check your system and see how many spotty instances there are running when your players are synced? -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Which means the system wouldn't even recognize them as executable binaries. Make sure the installation folder is on a filesystem which correctly supports these file attributes. Hi Michael, recently upgraded to Spotty v2.4.4 which works most of the time. I get random drops I still have to capture better in the logs. Does the Spotify icon not appear on the Squeezebox touch itself? It should. Can't seem to get it to connect from the Android Spotify app as it doesn't appear in the list of players. Worked first time from Ipad but we're an Android house. Kill the app on the Android device and restart. Also: there's an option to only show local players or similar in the Spotify app. Try to turn this off. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'm late to the Spotty party :) Today I've just migrated my flac library from my Zyxel NAS to my USB 3.0 external HD and hooked it up to my Asus Beebox SFF PC and installed then latest version of Logitech server software All good. Running Windows 10 so had to install the runtime. 2 questions remain - Does the Spotify icon not appear on the Squeezebox touch itself? Can't seem to get it to connect from the Android Spotify app as it doesn't appear in the list of players. Worked first time from Ipad but we're an Android house. Hi, I just noticed that when I try to browse playlist all come up empty. I checked the squeezeserver logs and got this each time I tried to open a playlist. "Plugins::Spotty::API::__ANON__ (1287) error: 404 Not Found" I know that it worked 2 days ago. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
I understand that there will always be some delay, I was just wondering of the ways to make it as small as possible. I measure this delay between the time when I hit play button in Spotify UI (on phone or laptop) and the time when music actually starts to play. Oh, that's not even what I was assuming. That time has been reported to be too long in some cases. But it's not to be expected. It really depends on several factors. The most obvious might be the operating system and hardware you're running LMS/Spotty on (CPU, memory, network). What are you using? The option "Optimize Pre-Buffering" didn't seem to change anything. I launch squeezelite using -a 80:32:32:1 option on SA RP device, could that be a problem? No, it's more about the buffer sizes (defined using -b). -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
When I play music through Spotify Connect directly on RPi I get ~7 seconds delay. If this is the time the Spotify app seems to be ahead of Spotty playback, then please see the announcement. It's something I'm aware of, but can't change. When I stream it to SA RP I get ~20 seconds delay. I guess that device is using a larger buffer than a standard squeezelite. There's a new option in Spotty to optimize pre-buffering. It can improve the situation, but might still cause issues under certain circumstances. Give it a try and see whether it improves your experience. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
I'm currently running LMS with Spotty plugin on Raspberry Pi (I've tried B+ and 3+). I have two squeezelite clients connected to it, one running locally on the same RPi and the other running on another device (Simple Audio RoomPlayer - SA RP). When I play music through Spotify Connect directly on RPi I get ~7 seconds delay. When I stream it to SA RP I get ~20 seconds delay. Also when I play through Airplay (using ShairTunes) I get ~2-3 seconds delay in both cases, so no additional delay when playback is not on the same device with LMS. Are the numbers I getting (7 and 20 seconds) are expected or could it be better? kadimm's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68217 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108898 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
The recode process takes a lot of CPU on my NAS (Synology DS414, Arm CPU) and playback sometimes stops. How much is "a lot"? 100% for the whole time of the playback? 100% for a few seconds? What process is using the CPU? Are you syncing players? How many? Playback stopping can have many different reasons. You'd have to investigate further in order to understand what is causing it. CPU load imho is rarely the reason for these kinds of hiccups. Is it possible to adjust this or maybe offload the recoding to another server?
