Try Alsamixcer 100%

LMS Volume 100%

Same query on two threads is confusing

So you have volume fixed at 100% in LMS, correct? What about alsamixer?

LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. Mostly virtual players,
occasionally with SB Radio, Boom or Classic.

Hey one more question for you - it seems the volume output from my Pi3
with Apple USB-C dongle/DAC is really low. I've got both this Pi with
PiCorePlayer and a Chromecast Audio connected to my multi zone amp for
the in ceiling speakers. Switching between inputs is pretty dramatic -
to balance volume I need to have the Chromecast at 16% volume and the Pi
at maximum. That's with ReplayGain disabled on the LMS (Chromecast
doesn't support ReplayGain). Any ideas? Could this just be a limitation
of the Apple USB-C dongle DAC?

Thanks again

You are welcome.

And just to complete the thought. We don't use a high value for
waitusb by default since that slows down the boot process for those that
are using microsd cards. In general booting from USB is a bit slower
that microSD, but I use the boot from USB too, where the pi is installed
in a case where I cannot get at the SD card.

Brilliant, seems to do the trick. A million thank yous for developing
this and taking the time to answer my questions.

PiCorePlayer through the Apple USB-C dongle to my multi zone amp is
finally making me happy for my in-ceiling speaker whole home audio
solution.

Material Skin to control the player seems intuitive for the whole family
and even easy for guests to access.

And finally gapless playback and replay gain!

pCP is booting before the kernel sees your USB stick. You need to
increase the value of waitusb that is on the command line(on the
boot partition cmdline.txt)

When booting from USB, you need to tell the kernel to wait for a bit for
USB devices to get recognized. I've seen some devices take 5 or 6
seconds to get recognized.

This was booting to a console with the Tiny Core logo instead of PiCore.
It seems intermittent. I've gone ahead and purchased a microSD card in
hopes that it has something to do with booting to USB instead of
microSD. Thank you for your response.

If you have followed the instructions correctly; contained within this
link

Then try putting a blank formatted SD card in its slot when booting from
usb :)

By default piCorePlayer boots to a console.

Do a ps to see what processes are running.

squeezelite?
sshd?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Picoreplayer won't boot

2022-01-30 Thread Smitty2k1

New user here - followed instructions to flash picoreplayer to a USB
stick for my Pi3b after enabling boot from USB. Running the latest 32bit
version 8.1. When the pi powers up it shows the four color splash screen
and then takes me to a tiny core console without booting picoreplayer.
My router assigns an IP and it matches the IP if I check ifconfig but I
can't ssh to it. Tried two USB sticks and both have same behavior.
Thanks
