Check the spelling of artist and album name. See the examples kbeast gave

I also just installed your string editor and when I do a search the

Same thing when I select 'Add language', or 'Changelog'. The only
thing that returns is the 'Show current strings file' which tells me #
your custom strings file is empty.

If the plugin can't get (usually due to a timeout) the content from
allmusic.com, it will display that message. You're looking at the plugin's
web page which does consist of a simple error message.

Because it never changes. I assume it's the last error message. Is

Isn't there an update link on the page? Or open the page in a new window
where you can hit ctrl-f5 to force a refresh.

That's a problem I fixed only a few days ago - and forgot to upload the
file. Could you please download the latest zip file and give it another
try?

Ok, the new string editor is working.

Reviews is also working. I guess I was too dumb to realize how it
worked. I thought the review was displayed on the album information
page. It might be a nice addition somehow, even if you only included a
link to the AMG web page for the album, if it were available on the
album page so that information could be read while browsing instead of
only for the currently playing album. I like the track information as
much as the album review, in part because it displays the composer and
the track duration, both of which are unavailable in SlimServer. Very
nice work.

Thanks for the plugin. Works just fine for me with Slimserver 6.2.2.
Don't suppose it would be very easy to display the review on a
squeezebox along with the other track information, rather than having
to call up the plugin with the remote?

Great job :)

It would be possible. But as I think reading long, scrolling texts is a
pain, I never did any work in that direction...

Great job :)

Thanks.

The idea has come up before, I think even Dean mentioned it. But currently
there's no way for a plugin to add anything to the song info page.

Really? There's no way to have a plugin hook into the generation of
web page output? (without altering the template in skin, that is).
What about hooking into CMDWRAPPERS or somesuch?

Can a plugin be hooked into any other operations, such as scanning?
For instance, say you had a plugin that you always wanted to run
immediately after a rescan finishes. Most likely to add or modify
information in the library database.

Everything is possible, of course. After all this is open source. I could
have you hack the main server code to better integrate the plugin ;-).
What I meant is that currently there was no official way to do so, no API
call, if you want. And I don't know the unofficial solution, yet.

It must be possible, as eg. the lazy search plugin shows. But as a plugin
author you'd have to keep up with every change in the code as soon as you
leave defined paths (plugin API). And this isn't always easy.

2005-11-07 Thread bact

I just started using this plugin tonight; really enjoy it a lot, thanks
for the work on it!

What would make it perfect for me would be if the album rating from
allmusic could be displayed somehow and also display if it was an
editor's pick album. Not sure if that is feasable at all; just wanted
to mention it tho!

Thanks again!
