This is a new thread for beta testing of BBCiPlayer 1.5.2 and later.
BBCiPlayer 1.4.x implemented DASH and has been available for nearly 12
months.
Some users of 1.4.x have *"Rebuffering"* problems especially with live
stream and particularly on Windows platforms when transcoding for SB3,
This thread is very long and dealt with initial DASH implementation
problem. Since problems are now mainly with 1.5.x - I have started a
new thread.

After tidyup the code and turning off all the diagnostic message and
doing final check before uploading - I got the rebuffering issue on my
Win7 i5-3210m laptop. Once extra delay due to logging message were
removed, it may have been enough to make the system fast enough to
trigger the issue but

I just noticed a couple of crash reports for a problem I thought I
fixed. It only occurs in Android 7.0 or 7.1. The crashed I fixed
happened when you've scrolled a long way down a long list and then put
the app into the background. The two recent reports are from a Pixel and
