Hi all, I've been on holiday so haven't had a chance to look any further than this: I believe the LastFM service changed to require an application key when logging in, which the plugin does not have. I have to see if adding the key resolves the issue, then see if LastFM will give me one. Hi all, I am guessing that LastFM have turned off the legacy radio service that SqueezeScrobbler uses. To be honest I do not plan on fixing this as it would require a complete rewrite of the plugin code. However, if anyone knows differently and it's just a minor change that's required let me know. I guess this is because there's some MySQL specific code in the plugin and 7.4 has switched back to MySQL. Are many people still using SqueezeScrobbler? I expect the radio side of the plugin is either going to or already has stopped working, and I don't plan to update it any more. Is it worth me keeping the Scrobbler side going? In SqueezeCentre 7.1, the official LastFM plugin can replace all SqueezeScrobbler functionality. (The official plugin is the one in the Music Services menus) There was a change made in the server which broke the plugin, hence the 1.1.12 release. OK so the problem is no new plugins are installing? What do you have in d:\squeezecenter\server\plugins\squeezescrobbler (You should have for example an install.xml file) ? I think the plugins are case sensitive as well, so that should be SqueezeScrobbler if it isn't already. I've no idea what 'deepfreeze' is! Those are the correct files (all plugin components are bundled into the .par file). Have you restarted SqueezeCentre after installing the plugin? Sorry, no idea at this point! I believe the only difference between 1.1.9 and 1.1.10 is that the maximum version number was changed so that it would work on v7.1 and 7.0.1. You did say that the web interface is not available in v1.1.1? Doesn't sound like that's working properly either to me! (I suspect that's because the method used to register as a 'radio' plugin changed name a while back) Have you checked the logs for any errors? The path to the settings page is expected to look like that. SqueezeCentre works out what it's supposed to be (I've no idea why this is necessary). Are you deleting the plugin cache file? Having a bit of a problem getting Last.FM working with SqueezeBox/Center: LastFM not showing up in the web interface would seem to indicate something is wrong with the plugin installation. I think people have reported this before when the plugin's strings didn't install correctly. Firstly, I would suggest stopping SqueezeCentre and deleting the plugin-data.yaml file, then restarting. Do a full refresh of the web interface and see if the LastFM entry appears. If not, try entering the LastFM menu from your squeezebox and check what's printed in the SqueezeCentre log afterwards. Is there a fix for the issue of LastFM not appearing in the Web interface? I don't believe this issue has anything to do with the plugin itself, and there is no 'fix'. Most people report that the plugin just starts working at some point! I suspect there's something cached in SqueezeCentre (the web interface itself maybe) that stops the plugin from appearing immediately. It would be relatively easy to add a 'shortcut' of some form to the main LastFM page to allow changing the account for the current player. I've noticed yours only submits to Last.FM at the end of a track instead of immediately at the beginning like the default plugin does I think that's just because the official plugin also supports LastFM's 'now playing' feature. If it's done correctly you can tell LastFM what you're playing but not scrobble it if doesn't meet the criteria. I haven't implemented this in SqueezeScrobbler because I feel it's rather pointless - I already know what I'm listening to because I'm listening to it! Well, you could ask the author of the Biography plugin to make a change to accommodate the format used for LastFM - track by artist from album is not that unusual is it? In the meantime, .par files are actually just zip files containing the plugin files in a special structure. You should be able to unzip the .par file, modify the contents and zip it back up again. Another issue: I have three installations of SC Can't locate object method getFeedSync via package Slim::Formats::XML at Plugins/SqueezeScrobbler/LastFM.pm line 1306. The first error seems to be caused because these are not identical SC installations. Can you check that Slim::Formats::XML is the same and up-to-date on all three? If you go to the SqueezeScrobbler settings page for this player, does it show up as disabled? Even though most of my scrobbling events seem to be successful as of my server log, none of them (even on the working installation) show up in my log on the LastFM page. Do you scrobble from any other applications e.g. iTunes? Does that work? What are you scrobbling from SqueezeCentre? I believe any internet radio will not show up on the LastFM page. I can't speak on behalf of SlimDevices but here's the situation at present. SqueezeCentre 7.0 Squeezenetwork Beta come with an AudioScrobbler plugin that can scrobble music but not play LastFM. SlimDevices said (some time ago) that they were working on a LastFM plugin but there's been no information on this since. Presumably they decided not to integrate SqueezeScrobbler into the official release as they wanted to re-design the plugins to work via SqueezeNetwork (a frequently requested feature). At this point therefore, the only way to listen to LastFM on a Squeeze player is with SqueezeScrobbler. I will continue to support and bug fix SqueezeScrobbler until the official plugin is available, but new functionality is unlikely. When the official plugin is released I will decide whether to continue to support/develop SqueezeScrobbler (But anyone is welcome to get involved at any point) I recently changed SqueezeScrobbler such that if it detects the offical AudioScrobbler plugin is enabled and correctly configured, SqueezeScrobbler should stop 'scrobbling' (preventing duplicate submissions) and use the AudioScrobbler accounts in the LastFM radio section (meaning they only need to be entered once) The problem you describe has not been reported before and could be related to this change. Have you enabled and configured the AudioScrobbler plugin? Could you check the server log file when this error occurs and look for any SqueezeScrobbler or LastFM errors? I suspect it is the new code then, I will try and recreate this. You say that LastFM was playing OK from SoftSqueeze (started from the player?), then the web interface reported the 'configure login' error - for the same player? Ah, so the web interface displays the error when Softsqueeze is closed? That's not that unexpected, a 'real' Squeezebox probably doesn't behave the same way (unless you unplug it) I will see if there's anything I can do to improve this anyway... You'll need to check the server log for any errors after a restart then. No, I agree, I only switched off the updates because they were being generated after every couple of tracks when the plugin gets a new playlist from LastFM. Wl, I did fix a bug last night that was corrupting the passwords when you changed any other settings, so it's not impossible that I introduced a new one. Although I did test changing my password and other settings independently, I never tried entering a new login or starting from scratch. You could try checking the logs, the plugin prints out all of the saved settings each time the web page is displayed. There could be a clue there...
