I seem to have lost the ability to manually change the length of a schematic
port symbol. The port auto configures it's length when the text is
specified. Usually too long for my tastes. When the port is placed the
second click used to place the left side of the port fixing the length. Now
Sounds like you have the Orcad Ports enabled. (Tools/Preferences)

In the 'Preferences' settings is a checkbox 'OrCAD (TM) Ports. I think that
is what you are looking for.
