Hi Richard, I too (attempt to) use the data base linking function. I too find it as slow as a wet week. It has been this way for as long as it has existed. From my playing with it I think it does umpteen passes through the file (multiply no. of components by number of fields I think). Please Mr.

I know that you can "work around" this situation and simply live with the 2 errors (per point) in DRC by picking up a track and shorting it to the ground reference point. My questions is how do you go about setting things up so that the DRC is free of errors? I do know that if you put 2 net names/

Somewhere on my set of pages, I draw multiple ground object (using one or more of the Protel styles) and give each one a net name corresponding to the various grounds on the schematic. I then connect them all together, and Protel resolves the names. It works fine. Tony > -Original Message--
