Re: [PEDA] P99SE strikes again on a US vacation long weekend holi day.
Jami, it was an arc along the edge of a polygon. The problem was with the gerber creation, PCB file was fine, of that arc (actually "those arcs" since there were a number of them) defining the edge of the polygon. It was the gerber that was wrong and generating the opposing portion of the arc which I actually wanted. It was fixed by repairing the DDB, deleting everything within the DDB except for the SCH and PCB files. I had to set-up new cam managers, CFG files, PCB prints, BOMs, etc.. But something in that process fixed it, I am not sure which fixed it because I did everything in one step I was so pissed off. Sincerely, Brad Velander. Lead PCB Designer Norsat International Inc. Abd ul-Rahman, FYI it was hardware arcs. Same as I run day in and day out. Seems the problem was something more sinister lurking somewhere in my DDB, Cam Manager or other files within the DDB. I'm not worried, the PC keyboard is 5V only, no hazardous voltages there. But I could wake up with an awful bitter taste on my tongue (recalling the times of testing a 9V battery with my tongue) ;-) Best regards, Ivan Baggett Bagotronix Inc. website: www.bagotronix.com - Original Message - From: "Brad Velander" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'Protel EDA Forum'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, November 29, 2002 11:53 AM Subject: Re: [PEDA] P99SE strikes again on a US vacation long weekend holi day. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post a message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * To leave this list visit: * http://www.techservinc.com/protelusers/leave.html * * Contact the list manager: * mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * Forum Guidelines Rules: * http://www.techservinc.com/protelusers/forumrules.html * * Browse or Search previous postings: * http://www.mail-archive.com/proteledaforum@techservinc.com * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Re: [PEDA] P99SE strikes again on a US vacation long weekend holi day.
Ivan, your as uniquely funny as usual. Don't ask me to explain it but invariably I run into these bugs on days when the US is celebrating a holiday that Canada doesn't celebrate. Yesterday I generated the errors 3 - 4 times in a row while checking various settings and issues. I emailed the list to see if anyone else had seen similar problems and knew the cause or a fix. Then I got mad and nearly completely cleaned out the DDB including the Cam Manager file. Repaired the DDB, redid all of my misc files including Cam Manager and voila it disappeared. Still don't know what was wrong nor what exactly had caused this erroneous Gerber but it is gone. Ivan, don't eat too much of that Turkey, you'll drool in your keyboard when you fall asleep with your head on the keyboard. Sincerely, Brad Velander. Lead PCB Designer Norsat International Inc.
