Hello, This may sound like a stupid question, which it is, sorry about that but
i wanted to ask a couple things about the Digi003 control surface. Those who
work with it, do you only record and mix from it and do the editing and that
stuff on the computer itself or do you also do the editing
Hi Krister,
Have you read the manual?
Google search for tutorials?
Those questions you asked should be covered in the manual?

Hi Krister,
I'd encourage you to just go ahead with it. You're not going to accomplish much
by staying on the sidelines. There will be things that will come easy and other
things will pose challenges. Be a pioneer like so many folks who have ventured
into unknown territory and I'm sure you
Hi all,
Has anyone ever tried using Protools in Hackintosh?
I would like to know if it is works well there.

I am not exactly sure what you're asking, but if you are asking if somebody say
mixes from the 003, it may not be a strait up question. In my case I may use it
to mute some tracks, solo others, select multiple tracks at once and
occasionally change the level of some tracks. If you have an older

Can you/ you guys who are using Pro tools in Hackintosh share your PC
specification?
What spec works best?
Any experience about pro tools in Hackintosh is very welcome.
Thanks in advance for your sharing.

oh sorry I thought you were asking about the Mac before. I read more
carefully this time.
I'm guessing Avid would not recommend ProTools be run on anything but
an actual Apple machine, since the hardware is guaranteed to work properly.

While chris is right and Avid doesn't recommend anything but actual apple
hardware, check out http://www.pro-tools-pc.com they make PC's specific to
running pro tools. What they don't say on the website but will speak of
anecdotally if asked is that the system is pretty much Hackintosh ready.
I wouldn't advise it, point blank. You start getting into non-native
equipment, and God knows what results you may get, if any.

Hey, Black Wizard!!
Sounds like an interesting, geeky weekend experiment! Given my schedule I'm

Hi, Well I am not saying it would or would not work but support from
Avid is a no no but really if you wish to try it for yourself that is of
course your choice. I am not saying it won't work as you might get
somewhere with it but really after all if you want to spend the money on
pro tools

Hi Chuck, I totally agree with you which is why I left it up to the
person who was asking the question as to what they want to do. I myself
would not buy this type of setup but then that is just me. I don't want
to buy something then find it won't work with what I have. I am not
saying it
Well, quite bluntly, with all due respect, maybe you should slow it down
where you can be productive. Enough said. We don't need list drama. I've
made my point. Mission accomplished.

For the record, I'm not a mod. nor an admin. I'm just saying this isn't
the first time and figured by now, you would have thought. Mistakes do
happen, but when they do, try learning from them. That's all I'm saying.
Again, enough said.

For one thing, Nick's assumption is correct. It's not legal. that said, it
doesn't stop the fact that people are gonna do it anyway, sadly enough.
then, we all wonder why Apple charges so much for their products as aposed
to Windows based PC's. Gee, I wonder...
Really?
