Console one is a control surface, but it only works with the console one channel strip plug in. so you load the channel strip as a plug in on a trac and you can control it right away with the hardware control surface. Its convenient but limiting. Where as you can map the Artist mix to control

The other thing is, if you originally set your marker location with pre-roll enabled, your marker will be two bars off when you disable pre-roll. In other words, if you thought you were on bar 4 because the pre-roll started your playback from bar 4 , your actual location would have been bar 6
